"Wait here, Abi, I won't be long." I order.
Abi sits in the small armchair outside the consultation room. She's still wearing the white nightgown but most of the blood has been washed off. Knocking on the wooden door, I push it open and see three Board members sat down. Sitting, I glance at each of them.
"How is the girl?" The black haired, pale man asks.
"She is okay. She's eaten and had a glass of water." I explain.
"That's good. But, can I ask why you went in first and none of the Agents carried out the mission correctly?"
"I don't understand that question. We got the girl, what else did the mission involve?" I quiz, confusion filling me.
The Board members look at each other quickly, their eyes wide with shock and fear.
"They were meant to kill her, weren't they?" I question.
"That is not for you to know, Mrs Stark."
"I don't care. I am going to take responsibility for that girl." I argue.
"Well, you said you were taking responsibility for Jake and that got him into intensive care with a bullet wound!" The man hisses.
I hold back a gasp by biting my lip. How dare he. I shake my head at him while storming out of the room. Abi looks up at me, her eyes full of curiosity.
"You're staying with me for a while, until you and I can prove to them that you are good."
Abi nods and she stands up. I lead the way to the elevator and we walk out at the ground level. Abi follows as I wander to the car and unlock it, she climbs in the passenger seat and I start the car.
Reaching home, I lock the car behind me and Abi stands quietly by the side of the car. She stares down at her hands nervously and doesn't look at me.
"This is where I live and this is where you will live for a while." I explain.
Abi nods and I lead the way up the few brick steps. Pushing open the front door, Zeke is sat on the sofa with his guitar under his arm and his fingers dancing along the strings.
"Finally, Skye, I need to-." He begins but stops as he looks at Abi.
"Give me one second." I whisper at Zeke.
Placing a hand on the small of Abi's back, I push her along the hall and to the right into the kitchen.
"Help yourself to any food and drink. Make yourself at home." I offer.
Turning around and walking out of the door. I bump into Zeke and he stops me by placing a free hand on my waist, his other holding his guitar.
"Who is that?" He hisses.
"Abi. I rescued her an hour ago, she has a telekinesis power." I briefly explain.
"I got a call from SHIELD. What the hell were you thinking taking Jake in there?" Zeke questions, his voice loud and his tone angry.
"I asked him, he could have said no but he didn't. I told Jake everything I knew about the mission, what I didn't know was that SHIELD gave the Agents different orders to shoot Abi the second they saw her." I describe.
"And you bring her here?! She's obviously a bad person if SHIELD want to kill her!" Zeke argues.
"I've given her a chance."
"Yeah, well maybe she doesn't deserve this chance." He spits.
"Zeke, you have to trust me. If I can teach Abi to control her powers then SHIELD won't be after her anymore and she will be safe." I explain.
