"What is it." Darien said.
"We just did a head count of all the children and adults, jospehina gave us an approximate head count of the Ra'am tribe, they outnumber us 3 to 1." Zane answered.
My eyes widened a little. What had I gotten myself into. With those odds, we're bound to lose, and death might come to me anyway. This new found information scared me.
"Then we'll get allies, we have some in-" Darien began.
"We don't, the northern tribes moved farther up North, it'll take a weeks passage to get to them and then a weeks passage to bring them here and by the time they get settled and all, they won't be of much use." Zane said.
"I thought we still trade with them,"
"We do, but it takes two weeks for the traders to come back." Zane countered.
Traders are basically the people who get in boats a go to different tribes, trading, buying, and selling goods such as weapons, artifacts, sometimes they help construct houses or stonehouses or whatever other tribes may need.
"I'm sure, we'll figure something out, we can get in contact with the Mayim tribe, ask them to help." Zane continued.
"Zane, you know they won't, they're nuetral, they won't go against either one of us, we'll have to figure something else out." Darien replied.
"Okay." Zane looked at me, "Sorry Eva, I didn't even say hi. How are you?"
"I'm fine," I smiled. "How are you?"
"Everythings good, my friend Aria is very thankful to you by the way, about her brother."
"Georgie?"
"Yeah," he replied.
"I'm glad,"
"She wants to meet you, I don't know if you have time now..." he asked.
"Uhm-"
"She said she wanted to feed," Darien looked at me, "I think you should just call it a day."
I narrowed my eyes at him, "Uhm," I looked back at Zane, "Tomorrow? I'd really like to meet her."
"Yea sure, I'll let her know." he smiled at me.
"Okay well, good night, guys." I looked at Darien, "Darien, see you tomorrow," then looked back at Zane, "Zane you too,"
They nodded at me as I walked away, when I was out of sight I stopped for a second and concentrated on them. When you want to hear a conversation from a distance, you have to close your eyes and concentrate on the people you're trying to eavesdrop on. Which is exactly what I was doing.
"So, everything okay over here?" Zane asked.
"Yea, it's fine."
"It looked like I interuppted something,"
"I said, everything was fine."
"Come on Darien, I'm your brother for goodness sake, talk to me."
"Zane, there's nothing to talk about! I said everything was fine!"
Then I heard footsteps, he must've left, I kept walking towards Cassandra's house. Wow, so he's not just an ass to me, it's to other people too. That made me feel better for some strange reason.
I continued walking until I got to Cassandra's house, I let myself in and found Cassandra and the girls sitting in the living room, knitting.
"Hey guys," I said.
