After Lucien, I met up with Katrina and brought her home. I introduced her to Cassandra and we all sat and talked a bit. After everyone fell asleep, I left the house.
I needed some air, away from everyone else, I needed to think, and I knew just the place to go.

I was sitting on the cliff when I heard a rustling sound behind me, but I shrugged it off. All I can think about is how this could've happened.
In one day, I got my family back, lost a friend, almost told Darien I had feelings for him, and I woke up happy but am about to go to sleep very sad. Suddely, somewhere behind me, not too far a twig snapped. This time it caught my attention, I was quickly on my feet.
"BOO" the yell came from my right as Katrina tackled me to the ground.
"Katrina!" I struggled under her, "Get off!"
Katrina rolled off of me while laughing, "I so got you!"
We sat up together.
I playfully hit her. "Don't do that!"
"Okay, okay sorry. Hey, what's wrong?"
"Nothing."
"Nothing? Then why are you sitting at the edge of a cliff, in the middle of the night?"
"It's really nothing."
"Yes, there's something. Come on Eva, since when do you not tell me what's going on?" When I didn't reply right away she continued, "Eva, talk to me. What is it?"
"Promise, promise you won't get mad? Or say anything to anyone?"
"Eva, I'm your older sister, so if it's something bad, yea, I'll get mad. What is it?"
I didn't know how to say it so I just spit it out, "I'm beginnning to have really strong feelings for someone,"
"Well yea, you had feelings for him when you were back home too, it's not news,"
"Katrina, it's not Lucien." I looked up at her.
"What? Then who-" she stopped.
I winced waiting for her reaction.
"Oh. It's that boy, Darien, isn't it." It wasn't a question.
I bit my bottom lip and nodded.
"Oh, wow." she said and looked down.
"Katrina," I put my hand on her arm, "I know it's crazy, but-"
"Eva," She looked back at me. "You remember that boy you always used to see me with, his name was Declan?"
"Yes, I remember him."
"Remember how much mom and dad loathed him, and how they kept telling him to stay away from me?"
"Yea, you and mom and dad didn't speak for weeks."
"Yea. They didn't like him because he was different. They didn't approve of him and his past, where his family came from.
I chuckled, "You defended him after knowing him for just 3 days, you snuck out a couple nights to meet him, and then one night mom followed you,"
She giggled, "Oh God I remember that now, she stopped us and told him that I needed to go get my anti-itch cream that I needed to take it every night,"
I laughed, "Yea! And then he actually dropped off anti itch cream because he thought she was serious!"
We both laughed for a few seconds before she continued.
"See that's the thing, because of who he was, and who his parents were and a couple of stupid things he did, mom and dad hated him, and didn't want me to see him. But when he thought that I needed something that was important to me, he went out and got it for me. He cared for me and looked out for me." She looked down at her hands. "He was good to me… good for me. But mom and dad just couldn't see past who he was."
"You never told me what happened, I never saw him again after you and mom and dad started talking again."
"Eva ,I never told you this because I didn't want you to have to think about it but… Declan died. One night, he went hunting with the rest of the adults, a lion attacked him. Ripped out his neck. When mom and dad saw how much pain I was in, it was only then they realized that what I felt for him was real, but it was too late. He was gone. Eva my point is, I know that there's this whole problem with the Theon and Kairi tribe but, hello, we're on their land. We're training together, preparing to battle together, no one would have ever imagined this would happen, who knows what could happen next. Just, Be happy Eva, Life is too big to cut out things that make you happy in life, in order to make other people happy."
"I just, I don't know if I can do this, I don't know how he feels. He found out about Lucien today."
"I thought nothing happened between you and Lucien, just a few kisses." she tilted her head in confusion.
"That is all that happened."
"Then what's the problem, just tell Lucien you're not into him anymore, you guys weren't serious anyway-"
"I did speak to Lucien, I told him we couldn't be together, and that I didn't have feelings for him anymore."
"Oh, how did he take it."
"Let's just say he was angry." I looked down.
"Yea well, he'll just have to get over it. And you need to talk to Darien. You should at least tell him."
"I can't." I looked back at her.
"Why not,"
"Because nothing is going to come out of it!"
She looked down, knowing it wasn't true.
"I just, don't want to think about it anymore. Let's just go back, I need to sleep."
