DARIEN'S POV

Josenia. I have to get her to Josenia. The tribe healer.

That was the only thing going through my mind as I ran over to Eva and kneeled beside her.

"Eva! Eva look at me," I yelled.

But she didn't move. She remained on her hands on knees. She had been staked in the stomach. One of the most painful ways of being staked.

"Eva, say something." I begged.

I can't touch her until she speaks, I need to know that she'll speak up if I hurt her by accident.

"Eva, Eva talk to me, we need to get you to the healer! Fast, but first you need to talk!" I spoke fast.

Still she didn't respond or move. I could see her shoulders and her back moving as she tried to breathe.

"D-Darien..." she finally said.

"Good, good I'm going to pick you up, but you have to let me know if I hurt you? Okay? You understand?" I said impatiently.

"Y-yes. Please. Help." she whispered hoarsely.

I looked at Zane who was still staring at her in horror.

"Get him to the Elders," I said to him. "Make sure they know exactly what he did and tell them to meet me at the Herb hut, I'm taking her to Josenia."

"O-o-okay." His voice wavered.

Zane stood up walked over to Stetton who was moaning in pain, he grabbed him by his shirt, pulled him up and dragged him across the woods in the direction of the Elders.

I looked back at Eva and put my hand on her back.

"Okay Eva, I'm gonna pick you up now, it's going to hurt a little as I move you, but bear with me okay."

"Mhmm," she groaned in pain once more.

Slowly,  I picked her up and got her into my arms bridal style.

"Ah!" She cried in pain. A tear slid down her cheek. "Ouch!"

"I know, I know, I'm sorry!" I silently cursed as I stood up with her in my hands.

I ran with her across the woods and into the herb hut.

"Josenia!" I yelled.

I put Eva down slowly on one of the beds. She groaned in pain.

"Josenia!" I yelled again.

"Darien?" I heard Josenia's spanish accent in the door way.

I looked behind me to see her walking towards me, I moved aside so that she could see Eva's stomach.

She gasped hard and brought her hand to cover her mouth as she stopped walking, "What happened!" She rushed over to Eva and examined the stake wound.

"She was staked, help her," I begged.

"O-of coure, of course." She said and looked at Eva, "Okay, put your hands on her shoulders. You're going to hold her down as I pull out the stake. It's going to hurt her and she might jump. It is crucial she does not move!"
