When there was an hour left until sunset, my mother and sisters went to explore the Theon lands, and I went to look for Darien, I had to speak to him. I spotted him from across the field with some of the other tribespeople and began to walk to him until I heard a familiar voice call my name.

"Eva!" Lucien ran over to hug me as soon as he saw me, "I missed you so much, I was so worried about you," he pulled away from the hug and held me at arms length. "Are you okay?"

From the corner of my eye, I could see Darien glaring at Lucien.

"Lucien," I stepped out of his touch.

"Eva, what is it?" he asked.

"Come with me, I need to speak to you in private." I took his hand and guided him through the woods, ignoring Darien's ongoing glare at lucien.

As soon as we were out of sight to the other tribesmen, I turned around and looked at him.

"Lucien, I'm sorry,"

"For what? What's wrong?"

"We can keep seeing each other, not the way we did when I was home."

"What, why not?"

I looked down.

"Eva, what's wrong."

"It's nothing, it's just... I don't feel the same way about you, as I did during those two weeks we spent together."

"Why, what's changed? Eva if I did something to-"

"No! No not at all it's not you, it's just… I just…" I struggled to get the words out of my mouth. "I think I might have feelings for someone else."

Lucien took a step back, obviously he was not expecting that response. "F-feelings? Someone else! In the Theon tribe! Are you out of your mind Eva!"

"I know it sounds crazy, but he just-"

"He just what Eva!" He stepped towards me until his face was inches away from mine. "What did you do with the Theon scum, I told you the day before you were taken that you are mine!" he grabbed my throat and pushed me against a tree. "Who is he."

"What- Lucien! Let me go!"

"Who is he!"

"Lucien you're hurting me let me go!" I yelled at him.

"Eva tell me who the bastard is or so help me-"

Suddenly Lucien's hand and body left hers, Eva turned her head to the left to see him pinned down by another familiar figure.

Darien's right arm was pinned against Lucien's throat as his left arm held a knife against  Lucien's face.

"Who the hell are you! Let me go! Don't you know who I am!" Lucien yelled.

"Darien stop!" I yelled as I ran and kneeled down next to him and put my hand on his left arm. "Darien this is not what they're here for!"

Darien let the knife linger at Lucien's throat for a few seconds, but finally got off of Lucien and stood up in front of Eva in a protective stance.

"You ever put your hands on her like that again, I will cut them off. And she won't be able to stop me." Darien threatened.
