The next day Kerry's mom awoke from the comma but only leaving her enough time to tell Kerry.
“be strong and brave, smart and free, be yourself, and don’t let others affect you, I love you, don’t be stupid” she said smiling as her heart rate line went flat. Kerry was distraught the one time she needed a rock or a friend was right now and he was gone. All that Kerry had was gone. After he mom’s funeral she flew back to New York.

When she arrived her friends were waiting with hugs and candy. Kerry was glad she had some support. When they got in the car Kerry gave them the complete summary of what had happened starting with Niall coming and ending with the funeral but all including what happened with Niall. Her friends told her that she had made the right decision about telling him and that he would come around and if he did not that he was a jerk. After more talking, Kerry noticed that Bridie was missing.
“where is Bridie?” Kerry asked
“she went back to London with Louis for a week. She called and said she was sorry she was not here but she well be here tomorrow.” Olivia filled her in. They all decided to take turns checking in on Kerry during the night to make sure that she was ok. They then let her out at her apartment with a tub of ice cream and a giant spoon.

After Kerry had watched almost all the sad movies she had and finished all the ice cream, Lydia knocked on the door. Lydia came in and gave Kerry more movies and made sure that she was ok. When Lydia left Kerry turned on a movie. She was distraught. Not only was her mom gone, the person she went to for the solution to all of her problems but her friendship with Niall was officially over. Next Kerry did the only thing she could think would calm her. She started drinking. She grabbed all her wine bottles and started watching the movie. By the time the movie had ended Kerry had finished one and a half bottles of wine and was thoroughly drunk. Kerry was to drunk and tired to switch the movie. So she just sat on the ground and sobbed.
