chapter 19

Two hours later Olivia came to Kerry's apartment and found Kerry lying passed out next to 4 and a half empty bottles of wine and a large pile of tissues. Olivia called Sarah and told her that she did not need to come because she was going to stay with her.

The next morning Olivia was woken up by a loud knock at the door. Olivia looked around and saw that Kerry was still sleeping on the couch next to her and it was and it was already 10 o’clock am. Olivia got off the couch to open the door and was shocked at who was standing there. Waiting in the doorway was Niall with roses and a card.

“oh, hey Niall” said Olivia wiping her eyes.

“um…sorry I thought this was Kerry's apartment.” He said slowly backing away.

“this is her apartment; I just spent the night” Olivia told him “here come in”

“ok, sorry to barge in” Niall said as he walked into her apartment

“Kerry is still passed out on the couch so why don’t you come to the kitchen while I make coffee and then I will wake her up” Olivia said “would you like some coffee” she asked.

“no thanks, I am good” Niall said as he sat down feeling awkward. When Olivia left the room the wake up Kerry Niall noticed the 4 empty bottles of wine. When Olivia got back she told him that Kerry would be in soon she just needed to wake up a little.

“so did you guys have a party or dinner last night?” Niall asked motioning towards the wine bottles.

“oh, no” Olivia said as she put the bottles in the recycling bin “Kerry just had a rough night” Olivia said

“just Kerry?” Niall asked surprised.

“yeah we were going to split the night checking on her but when I came she was passed out so I just stayed the night.” Olivia told him

“why don’t I just come back later” Niall said getting up.

“no, Kerry will be very excited to see you” Olivia said just as Kerry entered the room.

“hey Kerry how are you feeling” Niall asked

“oh, you’re here” Kerry said excited, then realized she was looking terrible. “sorry, I must look terrible” she said as she took a sip of her coffee and a bite of toast. A few seconds later she threw it up. She rinsed out her mouth and apologized.

“don’t worry I’ve seen you much worse’ he said. Kerry had forgotten that he was there when she had food poisoning.

“oh, yeah” Kerry said remembering “so why did you stop by?” Kerry asked.

“I just wanted to say that I am sorry about your mom, I will miss her a lot too.” Niall said “and, I am sorry I over reacted, I know that you where just trying to help.”

“no I am sorry that I barged in and got nosy” Kerry said trying to keep her coffee down.

“Kerry don’t be sorry, thank you” he said

“for what?” she asked

“I looked at her phone and you were right, she was cheating on me.” He said

“I am sorry, here why don’t I take you out to a bar tonight and get you a re-bound girl.” Kerry suggested

“no” Niall said “Kerry, will you go out with me, I have set my sites on you since we were first friends and no matter how mad I got about you “cheating” I always thought about how amazing you were and if you will give me one more chance to redeem myself I promise I will wow you” Niall told her as he took her hand.

“yes” Kerry said as tears welled up in her eyes. Kerry then fell into Niall’s arms and sobbed. She had been waiting for this her whole life.
