Niall decided that they would go out on a date later and since Kerry was in a tough place he would stay in with her and watch movie and make sure that she did not drink anymore. They watched “sleepless in Seattle” and just like always Kerry cried at the end but this time she had Niall to cry on. Niall struggled though because he had big news and he did not want to break her spirits. He had to tell her after the movie but she was so tired she had fallen asleep in his arms. So he held onto the news till the morning.

The next morning Niall confronted Kerry

“Kerry, we are going on tour for 11 months, from next month to February 12th next year” Niall said upset

“ok” Kerry said calmly

“you are ok with this?” Niall asked

“no, but this is our life now and I will learn to cope with it” Kerry said

“thank you, Kerry if you do find a better man than me. Don’t wait up for me, but if you don’t meet me at the top of the empire state building on valentine’s day” he said

“it’s a deal” Kerry said “but for now let’s make the most of the time we have left” for the whole month Kerry and Niall were never apart. When the time came for him to leave, Kerry was upset but showed no sign, to be strong for Niall.

  The next 11 months were the worst for Kerry but texting every day with Niall made it easier. Halfway through the 9th month Kerry was diagnosed with leukemia, she never told Niall, to make sure that he stayed focused on the tour. Kerry started chemotherapy and was getting better but she never told Niall so that he would not worry about her. As valentine’s day approached Kerry finally realized that she would not be able to make it to meet Niall. Bridie and Olivia, who had been with her ever since she was diagnosed, knew what they had to do.
