The next morning Niall woke up to find Louis laying on top of him and Bridie lying on top of Louis. Niall squeezed his was out from under them and sat in a chair thinking about how unfortunate Kerry had been in her life, from being beaten to getting cancer, Kerry was still surviving and Niall would make sure that she did all the way till the end. The others woke up one-by-one and Louis being the lazy boy that he is was the last to wake up. After Louis and Bridie had gone home, the doctor came in.

“Son, I am afraid we have some bad news, ad some good news” the doctor said to Niall.

“can I hear the bad news first?” Niall said hopefully.

“sure, the bad news is that she will need to take off her ring for the therapy and good news, is that she only has 3 more months of therapy.” The doctor told Niall, with a small smile on his face.

“that is great” Niall said the look of fear wiped straight off his face.

“So, all you need to do is bring her in every morning and that is it” the doctor said

“ok, should I be expecting any change in mood or body function?” Niall asked pointing to Kerry.

“No, she should grow her hair back and loose some weight but that is about it.” The doctor told Niall who was helping Kerry out of the bed.

“I will be leaving now” said the doctor with a wave as Niall helped her gather her clothes and took her back to the apartment.

The next 3 months went smoothly with no problems at all. Kerry's hair grew back slowly but it grew back and just as the doctor said, she did lose some weight. Niall and Kerry's friends had succeeded in taking great care of her.

When the final chemo therapy was done, Kerry and Niall and the girls celebrated. After the celebration, Niall stayed at Kerry's apartment.

“Niall I need to talk to you “Kerry said very seriously

“What is it babe?” Niall said looking worried while he pulled her onto the couch with him.

“I am not ready to be engaged” Kerry said taking off the ring” I want to be boyfriend and girlfriend but I am not ready for a engagement. I excepted it during the chemo because I needed to know that I had a rock solid support with me but I realize now that I still haven’t been out on a date since we were 16, and I want to get more time with the new you, the pop star you, before a huge commitment like this.” Kerry explained to Niall with a look of hope and apology on her face.

“ok” Niall said kind of disappointed “don’t worry I will take you out and get you ready for this commitment, I understand I also proposed spur of the moment because if I lost you, at least I would know that you were forever with me.” Niall said. They hugged and placed the ring back in the box together.
