"So what are our big plans for the two weeks Dad will be gone?" Isaac asked me late that night. Every once in a while, like we were still little kids, Isaac would come in my room. Just to talk, sleep, fight, or sometimes watch Netflix with earbuds.

"You're going to come to football practice with me every morning, I'll leave ten minutes early to drop you off at the middle school, I'll come back to the high school, we'll go to school, I'll come pick you up from school, we'll go home, we'll do homework, we'll eat, we sleep for the night and in the morning we click the repeat button." I told him.

"Can't we do anything fun?" Isaac asked.

"Like?" I asked him.

"Go to a party? Host a party?" Isaac said. I pushed his arm slightly.

"We're being trusted home alone for two weeks and that's what you want to do?" I asked him.

"Yeah. Kinda." Isaac said.

I rolled my eyes and sighed wondering how I was going to last like this for two whole weeks.

"I mean isn't high school all about parties?" Isaac asked.

"And you are a football player, the popular ones." Isaac said. I had already been invited to a few parties this weekend.

"I'll think about it." I said.

"Yes!" Isaac said a bit too loudly.

"Boys!" Dad called.

"We'll sleep now!" I called back.

"Good." Dad replied.

"Rules though." I whispered to Isaac. Isaac groaned.

"You sound like Dad." He said.

"You aren't allowed to drink anything but caned things, or drinks that haven't been opened. And no alcohol." I whispered.

"No duh! I want to go my whole life without drinking poison." Isaac told me. Smart kid, I thought to myself.

"You stay next to me." I said.

"Got it."

"We leave when I say to."

"Ok."

"You don't complain."

"Got it."

"Stay away from drunks."

"I'll be next to you."

"Don't make a fool of yourself."

"I can't promise that." Isaac said.

"Why not?" I asked him.

"Cause what ever pops in my head comes out, before I even think about it." Isaac said.

"Fine, don't make too big of a fool of yourself." I said.

"Deal." Isaac said. Then he rolled over to sleep. I'm taking an eighth grader to a high school party, I am such a terrible brother.
