"You two be good." Dad said that Friday as we waited for him to leave at the airport.
"We'll be fine dad." I told him.
"West, drive safely home. Drive slowly, but not too slow. Ok?" Dad asked.
"Yeah, ok." I told him.
"Isaac be good, listen to West. I don't care if there's a good show in, bed time at ten got it?" Dad said looking over at Isaac.
"Yeah, no TV after ten, be in bed at ten, listen to West, not set the school on fire. We'll be fine." Isaac said.
"I didn't think that I needed to say the last thing." Dad said.
"It was a joke Dad." Isaac said. But I could see the sparkle in Isaac's eyes as the idea began to form in his head. Lord have mercy on who ever he ends up marrying.
"Dad we'll be fine, we will be good and not do anything bad. I promise." I told him.
"Are you sure you can handle this for two weeks?" Dad asked me. I gave him that, no duh face.
"It can't be that hard." I told him.
"Watch it be." Dad told me.
"DAD we will be fine!!! Just go already." Isaac begged.
"Remember no staying up late, do your homework, and no parties West!" Dad yelled louder and louder as he got swept away further and further by the crowd.
Both Isaac and I took our crossed fingers from behind our backs.
"I almost feel bad." Isaac said.
We didn't say anything for a few seconds. I started rethinking this whole party thing.
"Not bad enough to miss that party though!" Isaac said as he jumped up.
What have I gotten myself into?
