The night of the party I was sweating bullets. I threw on my football jacket and pulled on some ripped jeans. I had a black t-shirt under the jacket. I let the jacket unzipped and picked up my black tennis shoes.
"Isaac let's go!" I yelled to him. It was already nine o'clock. Isaac came out of his room wearing dark blue jeans, a navy blue shirt, with blue shoes. "Well aren't you going to fit right in." I told him.
"Saids the one wearing his football jacket." Isaac said.
"All the football players wear theirs to parties." I told him.
"Wonder why." Isaac said. We both really knew why. If I had the jacket on, I would stand out. Every football player would. It was just something that happened.
"Don't go out for football next year." I told him.
"Why wouldn't I? I would probably just get on cause of my brother." Isaac said, but he didn't say it as a good thing. I didn't push him on it. I walked over to the kitchen and picked up two green apples. I threw Isaac one and he caught it with ease.
"Eat that before we go." I told him.
"Won't there be any food at the party?" Isaac asked.
"Yeah right, like your getting your hands on any of that food." I said, almost letting myself laugh.
"Why not?" Isaac asked.
"There could be drugs all around the place, we don't know what kind of party it'll be. Better safe than sorry." I told him, but I did know what kind of party it would be. One I should have never agreed to let my fourteen year old brother tag along on.
"What if there's Doritos?" Isaac asked. Isaac is a sucker for Doritos. Honestly if a kidnapper wanted to kidnap him all they needed to do would hand him a bag of Doritos and he would go willingly.
"No." I said sternly, knowing perfectly well if he found Doritos that he would beg for them until his voice went dead.
"What if they're nacho Doritos?" Isaac asked. If there would be nacho Doritos I wouldn't be able to stop him. He would really be a goner.
"No." I said sternly, once again, knowing that my words would mean nothing if we ran into some Doritos.
"Fine." Isaac said. I noticed his hand was hidden behind his back.
"Hands up." I said. Isaac flinched, knowing he had been caught. He showed his crossed fingers, I knew I wouldn't be able to stop him. "If you can stay out of trouble this whole party, I'll buy you two party sized bags on the way home."
"Deal!" Isaac said quickly, showing both of his hands in the air.
