When we got to the arena, I avoided Niall at all costs, which wasn't too successful. We kept running into each other or something funny would happen and I would immediately want to tell him... and his laugh made me smile. Niall's laugh could cure cancer, his smile can light up anyone's day, and seeing him content with life when he is looking out into a crowd of people who love him will make you want to just hold him. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that boy, and I had fallen madly in love with him. Ever since we almost kissed last night, I haven't been able to stop thinking about him. I loved him.
It was time for the meet and greet, so Gemma and I went to the entrance with Paul to help take tickets. Seeing the lads with their fans was enough to make you smile for eternity. I loved seeing my brother so happy. The line had moved down significantly, and we were down to the last few people.
"Two more people left in line guys and then you need to head to the changing rooms." Paul said, letting the two people through the curtain. Gemma took the girls ticket after Paul stamped her hand. The boy that walked in behind her got his hand stamped and then turned to me so that I could take his ticket. That is when every ounce of my body filled with terror.
"Hey babe." He said, leaning forward to kiss my cheek. I knew that I had to hug him, so I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Play it safe sweetheart, make sure you state how much you missed me." I felt like screaming when he whispered that, but I complied.
"Preston! I missed you so much." He squeezed me tighter.
"That's better." He whispered before letting go of me. "Hey, come be in the group picture with us. You too Gemma." Her face was white, but she joined us. Preston guided me so that we were standing between Liam and Niall, who were both furious. The pictures were taken and he turned to shake hands with all of the boys, keeping me close at the waist. "Liam, always a pleasure to see you."
"Same." he said calmly.
"And Niall, Spencer has told me all about you. Good to finally meet you." Niall shook his hand and nodded.
"She's told me plenty about you as well." He said through gritted teeth. Preston pulled his hand away from Niall and pulled me over to the table where they collected their pictures.
"Preston, I have to head backstage, but I will see you later, okay?" I said quietly, just hoping that Niall wouldn't hear.
"Sounds great." He pulled me closer and I knew what was next. I had to. I reached my hand to the back of his neck and pulled him into me, kissing him with the least amount of passion as possible. He pulled me in harder and pressed against my lips with fury, forcing his tongue into my mouth. I pulled away after he had his way and kissed his cheek. "See you later babe." He said as I walked away. I turned back and waved and then kept walking until I was in the backstage halls.
I couldn't physically get myself to breathe, my heart was pumping fast and hard and I felt dizzy. I fell against the wall and hit the floor. Liam and Niall turned around and ran back to me. I saw Liam standing above me, along with Niall. They both got down and Liam helped me sit up against the wall. My chest felt like it was exploding and my head was pounding. I was crying, and I wasn't the only one. I caught a glimpse of Niall through my tears and saw his eyes red and full of silent tears.
"Spencer!" I zoned in and looked straight into Liam's eyes. "Spencer, breathe... Come on, breathe." I gulped a big breath down and leaned my head against the wall. I was holding onto Liam's hand but it wasn't helping. "Spencer, you are having a panic attack, I need you to find something to drag your mind back here. What makes you happy, what will get your mind off of him?" I couldn't speak, but I knew what I needed. Niall reached his hand forward to touch mine, and I could already feel myself calming down. "Niall, stay with her, I am going to go get Paul to get her to a doctor." Niall nodded and I watched Liam run down the corridor.
