I couldn't believe he was here. Standing in front of me. This man. My father. He's here alive and healthy. I didn't know what to feel. I didn't know what to say. So many emotions ran through me. Disbelief, confusion, shock...
You'd think after finding out the father I never knew was alive I'd feel some type of happiness and excitement. That I'd run into his arms with tears of joy running down my face. But I didn't move an inch. Instead I watched him cautiously. Staring at him blankly. Something about him wasn't right.
The man, my father, watched me with hard eyes. The corner of his lip twitching up into a small smirk as he stared at my confuse face.
"What's wrong Olivia?" He asked studying me with amuse eyes but I didn't miss the venom in his voice when he said Olivia. "Look like you'd seen a ghost." He was messing with me. Toying with me.
He intertwined his hands behind his back and took small and slow steps around me. His intense brown eyes stayed on me. Not once lingering away.
"You grew into a beautiful young woman." I stayed quiet. His eyes - if that's possible - grew even colder. "I gave you a compliment, the least you can do is say thank you." He spat.
I again stayed quiet. He stopped walking when he was a few feet away from me.
After a moment his scowl was replace with a smirk. "I know there are hundreds of questions running through your mind right now, and I know you want some answers." He paused. "Which I'm willing to give to you."
That caught my attention. I desperately wanted answers. I needed to know why he's here now after all these years, and more importantly what does he want with me. He must have saw the eagerness in my eyes because he chuckled.
"Connor," My head snapped towards mom. She was standing next to Amy, a look of confusion on both of their face. I looked down at my little brother that is still holding my hand watching the man in front of us.
I forgot they were in the room.
Mom took a step toward him keeping her head up. I knew she was trying to stay strong for me and Jason. But I also knew she was breaking inside.
"How are you here?" She asked. Her voice unwavering. Connor turned to her and grinned.
"It's good to see you too Faith," He looked her up and down.
"How are you here?" She spat. I was shocked. I never heard mom talk so coldly. She's usually a friendly person that barely ever got mad.
Connor smirked. "You haven't changed a bit, except for the hair. You always did want to be a blonde."
Mom's eyes narrowed into slits. "Answer my question." She said through gritted teeth.
Connor's gaze met mine. His eyes were again cold and dark. He glared into my eyes with so much hatred. But behind that hatred I saw... pain. I furrowed my brows.
He moved his gaze back to mom. "Patience my dear sister." My gaze switched to mom. Not once did she break eye contact with the man in front of us.
Finding my voice I took a deep breath before directing my question at Connor. "Why are you here?"
Connor's eyes snapped to me. The smirk on his face returning. "That's the question you should be asking."
He slowly began walking to the other side of the room, plopping down in a chair. He folded his arms over his chest and stared directly at me.
