Chapter Thirty Two 'The Talk'

Athena's POV
Was she serious?!
Can we talk?
I think not!
Deciding not to even entertain her I gave her a blank stare before turning to Ashley.

"Ashley would you be a dear and show me to my room I'd like to put my case in there, maybe change my clothes too" I grinned ignoring Erin's sad stare.
"Yeah of course!" Ashley smile looking around to put her drink.
"I can show Athena to her room!" Erin spoke up while trying to mask her excitement.
"No th...." I went to protest only to be cut off by Ashley.
"Thanks Erin! You're a star" she smiled before walking away.

"Shall we head up?" Erin whispered, twiddling her fingers.
"I'd rather not go anywhere with you, I'll find my own way!" I snapped grabbing the handle of my case and walking away.
I didn't get far when a soft hand gently gripped my wrist.
"Please Athena! I just want to talk! It will only take a few minutes, please just hear me out" Erin begged with a quiet sob.
Hearing her cry made my heart pound painfully. I just couldn't bring myself to be mean to her and before I could stop it, my mask slipped.
"Ok we can talk, just show me where to go" I sighed.

Walking ahead Erin slowly began to walk up the stairs looking behind her every so often to see if I was still there.
We walked down the hall in complete silence until she stopped at a door and turned to me.
"This is your room, I helped Ashley set it up for you" she smiled sadly.
"Oh thank you, that was sweet I guess" I muttered.
Opening the door I followed her in, wishing to be anywhere but here.

The room was beautiful I had to admit.

"You guys did an nice job, it's amazing" I smiled slightly taking in the whole room.
"Thank you Athena! I missed you I really did" she sighed taking a seat on the bed.
"HA! We both know that's bullshit Erin!" I snorted with a sarcastic laugh.
"No I did! You gotta believe me!" She exclaimed, her eyes full of unshed tears.

"Are you kidding me?! Three years! THREE FUCKING YEARS ERIN! And not once did I hear from you! No hello, no nothing! If you really expect me to believe you've missed me then you're more fucking delusional than you think!" I snapped, glaring at her in pure hate and hurt.

"I can explain everything please just let me speak! I only wanted to protect my baby!" She cried out before freezing at her own words.
"Baby? What are you talking about?" I whispered slowly taking a seat next to her.
"It's all such a mess! I didn't want things to be like this!" She sobbed burying her face in her hands.
"Hey! Hey! Come here!" I spoke softly pulling her into my arms.
"Oh Athena I'm so sorry!" She sniffled hugging me back.
"It's ok Erin! Now please tell me what happened!" I almost begged.

Pulling away she looked at me mournfully before taking a deep breath.
"The day after you left I came to your house to tell you I was pregnant but when I got there I was greeted by The Joker. I asked him where you were and he told me it was over, he had sent you away for good. I begged him to tell me where he sent you but he just laughed coldly. When I went to phone you he ripped my mobile out my hands and he...he...." Erin explained before bursting into tears.

"Oh Erin what did he do?" I whispered sadly taking her hand.
"He beat me! I tried to fight back but he was just too strong. He kicked me in the stomach and I screamed at him to stop before blurting out that I was pregnant. He stopped but what happened next was much worse! He said that if I ever tried to contact or find you he would come for me and hurt my baby!" She wailed and from the fear in her eyes I knew she was being truthful with me.

"I'm sorry Erin! I'm so sorry!" I sobbed pulling her to me once more.
We held onto each other for what seemed forever until she finally mumbled something.
"What was that?" I questioned.
"Jaedon, my little boy is called Jaedon and he's the beautiful thing in my life, he is my life" Erin smiled her eyes filling with nothing but love.
"Do you have a picture of him?" I smiled.
"Yeah here!" She exclaimed pulling out her phone and showing me her wallpaper.

"He looks just like you Erin! What a beautiful little boy! I'm so happy for you" I grinned admiring the toddler before sadness took over me.
"What is it Athena?" Erin whispered putting her phone away.
"It was horrible Erin!" I sobbed reaching up to wipe my tears.
"What was honey?" She enquired grabbing my hands.
Letting out a sigh I began to tell her everything that had happened between me and Joker.
How he brutalised me
How he sent me away
What those men took from me
What happened after the hospital
Everything down to the last detail......

"Oh my Athena! That bastard! How could he does this! I'll kill him and his ditsy bitch!" Erin snapped darkly as I finished talking.
"It's ok Erin! It's all over now, I'm fine!" I smiled pinching her slightly to calm her down.
"But Athena!" She protested.
"No Erin! It's all good! Let's just forget about him and enjoy our time together"
Rolling her eyes she reluctantly nodded in agreement.

"Well I'm gonna go clean up and we can join the party again!" I grinned jumping up and grabbing my suitcase, pulling it into the bathroom with me.

A while later I was feeling better and ready to party.

"How do I look?" I asked Erin jumping from behind the bathroom door and pulling a stupid pose.
"Like a modern Dorothy, so cute!" She giggled at my childishness.
"Exactly what I was going for! Let's party!" I squealed linking arms with Erin and skipping towards the door.
"By the way Jessica will be arriving tomorrow!" Erin said winding in regret.
"Urggghhhhh! God help us all!" I groaned before laughing loudly.
