Athena has been married to her childhood sweetheart Jack Napier for 5 years.

Pain was the first thing that hit Athena as finally she came round. Joker must have hit her pretty hard, it felt like someone had crapped on her soul. She wished this was one her of nightmares but she knew it wasn't so, that clown had really attacked her and Chris. Athena's mind began to spin frantically as she tried to gather her bearings. Why had he attacked them? It was almost as if he was jealous she had moved on. Joker had seemed furious at the thought of her and Chris becoming something. How dare he! She had given him plenty of opportunity to make amends with her instead he beat her, tossed her aside and replaced her with Harley. If the clown could move on then why couldn't she!
Wait! Maybe he had attacked them for another reason........
Athena's POV Did he know about our plan to take him down? How did he find out? I should have been more careful! Of course I was being watched at all times and I let myself slip up. You stupid girl! I could feel my panic rising with each second that passed.
The feeling of strong arms tightening around me suddenly knocked me from my thoughts. I had yet to open my eyes and honestly I didn't want to. I didn't want to see who was holding me, I was too scared, too angry! Was I safe in Chris's arms? Or was I within the grasps of that lunatic?!
Come on Athena! I could do this! I was strong now, I could fight back! I wasn't going to lay down and take whatever he threw at me, not like I used to. The last few years had changed me and I would show him exactly how much. I wasn't scared of him, I was scared of death. I obviously didn't want to be killed, there was so much left to do in life. The situation couldn't continue to be delayed, I had to open my eyes and face whatever was there. I prayed it was Chris but deep down I knew it wasn't so. I felt cold and empty that's how I knew it wasn't good.
Taking a deep breath I gathered up all my courage and slowly opened my eyes to be met with the bright blue orbs I dreaded.
End of POV Time seemed to stop as Athena stared into the eyes of the man she hated more than anything.

"Welllll look who finally woke up!" Joker chirped with a large grin as he watch her face twist in anger. "Y...y...you...you.....YOU BASTARD!" Athena screamed thrashing her body about until she landed on the ground in a heap. "Come now dollface don't be so difficult" he pouted leaning down with his arms out ready to grab her.
*SLAM* With all the strength she could muster Athena had lifted up her leg and sent her foot pummelling into his jaw sending the clowns head back over. Before he could react she scrambled into the corner furthest away from him and brought her knees up to her chest. "Ahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" A cold demonic laugh echoed throughout the van making the men in the front flinch. The girl was surely going to die now they thought trying their best not to turn their heads in fear of their own lives.
