"Where are you going now?" Aella sighed looking at the clown in annoyance.
"To have some funnnnnnnn!" Joker cackled causing a cold shiver to run through her body.
"Fun? This is the third time this week, you need to stop" Aella exclaimed feeling deeply saddened.
His version of fun wasn't very fun at all.
"And why would I do that?" He yawned sarcastically checking his watch.
"Look I know you have this big revenge plan to kill Batman but must you kill innocent people too" Aella knew there was no use trying to get through to him but that didn't mean she'd give up trying.
"No but that's the fun part!" He chirped clapping his hands like an excited child.

Aella was completely lost, she had no idea what to do about the whole situation. She had become closer to him over the last few weeks, he had opened up to her and told her everything, threatening her life at the end if she ever spilled his secrets. Joker was a second brother to her now but she could see him slipping away day by day. All the humanity he had left was gone and by the looks of things would never return. The man was cold, malice and evil to the core.
He was beginning to turn Gotham upside down just as he promised.
He'd go out everyday and cause utter mayhem, not caring who died in the process. The victim count was becoming extraordinary, he had passed her kills within the first day. Aella couldn't understand who would want to kill for fun, she wanted Batman gone too but the people of Gotham shouldn't have to suffer this injustice.

"The boss is getting suspicious, he keeps demanding to know who you are. You need to be careful, he owns Gotham and has the ability to kill you without breaking a sweat" Aella frowned, worried for her friend.
The boss was not someone you wanted to mess with, hence why she was still a prisoner.
"Well we wouldn't want to keep him in the dark, let us go to him but first I would have my fun ahahahahaaaaaaaa!" And with that he was gone leaving a terrified Aella behind.
There was no way she could take him to the boss, the amount of chaos that would arise did not sit well with her.
What if Joker decided to join him?
Would he turn on her?

Hours later
Joker whizzed through the streets of Gotham laughing manically as he managed to lose Batman.
The mission had been a success of course, a criminal as great as him could never lose, he was untouchable now.
Speaking of untouchable he needed to do something about this 'boss' guy Aella feared so much. If he was ever going to have complete control over Gotham he needed to wipe the competition out. Soon people would fear him instead, well they already did but it's always nice to put a name to a face.
Falling into a deep concentration Joker let the wheels in his head turn, he needed a plan and it needed to be good.

After a few minutes Joker suddenly parked up realising he had lost focus on driving and had no idea where he was.....that was until he looked up.
His heart began beating widely causing sharp pains to circulate in his chest.
How did he end up back here?!
Joker stared at the house he had left all them weeks ago, the house he had left his dying wife in.
Surprisingly he saw the lights were on and the curtains had yet to be closed, giving him a clear view inside. Before he could stop himself he had gotten out the car and was now heading up towards the living room window.

Sneaking a peek inside his eyes widen dramatically and he was sure he would have fell if it had no been for his grip on the windowsill.
There curled up on the sofa was Athena........his wife......was alive.
Joy rippled through him, he hadn't killed her after all, she was here!
That joy turned to anguish as he noticed the stream of tears running down her still bruised, he had broken her. Sure she wasn't dead on the outside but her eyes were so empty and hollow, gone were there sparkle and replaced with heartbreak.
"Athena..." Joker whispered swallowing the lump in his throat.

He stayed frozen in place watching her cry until he could take no more.
What he had done was too much to bare, this is why he had tried to end it in the first place. Dragging himself away from the window with a choked sobbed Joker gave Athena one last glance before stumbling back to his car.
He couldn't stay there, he'd only cause more damage!
He wasn't fit to love her anymore.
Peeling out the street Joker let his emotions break him once again and he began to cry as hard as ever not noticing the sad brunette who was now watching his car disappear in wonder.
