'What is that god awful sound?!' They wondered as the darkness and silence that surrounded them finally broke.
Light was beginning to seep through the black mass causing them to hiss and scramble back into safety. Their skin began to warm up as fresh blood pumped through their once stone cold body. How they wished for the cold to return, they hated this new feeling, it wasn't right!
So much time had passed, they had become accustomed to their new home, it was their safe haven. No one could touch them here, no one could get to them.

"Go back! You have to go back!" A strange voiced called out to them causing a sense of dread and absolute panic to wash over them.

No!
They didn't want to go back, not ever!
They loved it here, that other world had caused too much heartache and despair, they did not want anymore!
"I'm not going back! I need to be here!" They called out at the voice that continued to try and lure them into the light.
"Go back, go back, go back, go back!" The voice demanded getting louder and louder unto, they thought their eardrums would burst.
It was getting getting harder to resist, pain erupted within their body as they tried to fight but it was no use the voice was too strong and with invisible hands the voice began to pull them forwards.
"No please! I don't want to go!" They cried frantically turning their head to look back into the darkness, maybe if they looked hard enough the voice would go but it was too late.
With one final pull they were thrown into the light and out of the cold.

"Can you hear me?"
There was another voice, this one was more masculine and panicked.
Shapes were beginning to appear with the light, the outline of a face, a painting, a bed, with each passing second everything was becoming more clear.
"Athena can you hear me?" The voice called out again, this time grabbing their hand and rubbing soft circles on it.
The beeping had now been blocked out and replaced with one dreaded word......

It was as if an ice cold bucket of water had been dropped on her.
This couldn't be right!
She wasn't alive, she had made sure of it!
Finally as the rest of her vision returned, Athena found herself staring into the face of Chris as he looked down at her in concern.
"N....n.o...no....pl...plea...se.....no" she crocked out, heart racing as tears began to well up in her eyes.
"Calm down Athena, it's alright, your safe" Chris tried to soothe her only for Athena to grow even more panicked.
"No! No! No!" Athena began to scream over and over until her overly exhausted body gave up once more and everything went black.

"Feel better?" Chris questioned softly watching Athena guzzle down water greedily.
After a visit from the nurse, Athena had woken up once again not long ago and was now sat looking completely devastated. Her attitude was poisonous and unlike the woman he knew, already she had sent two nurses running from the room in a fit of tears.
"Nooo Christopher I do not feellll better" she hissed slamming her glass down on the side table before wincing as her freshly stitched wound rubbed against the bandage that graced her wrist.
"I understand you're scared Athena but you're saf....."
"I AM NOT SCARED OK CHRIS! You don't understand! I'm not meant to be here, I'm meant to be dead!" Athena yelled pulling at her hair in frustration and huffing loudly.
"Don't you see Athena! This is a miracle! You survived!" He exclaimed baffled by her lack of relief.
"Foolish of me for not cutting deeper! I want to be dead Chris, this isn't no miracle!" Athena laughed coldly glaring at him.
"It's a miracle for me! I LOVE YOU ATHENA AND YOU CAME BACK TO ME!" Chris roared lunging forwards and taking her face within his hands.
"Chris" Athena sighed shaking her head and looking down.
Pulling away Chris let out a sigh of his own and slumped back into his seat.
