I only have one thing to say, more feels.
Isabelle sat in the pink beanbag in the corner of the room her hands wrapped around a steamy mug. Eyes downcast she fidgeted uncomfortable until she found a proper position. She looked up at Magnus who sat across from her in her purple armchair, "Now Magnus what is this urgent matter we had to speak about that I cannot dare repeat to my brother?"
Magnus fidgeted nervously, frightened on how the words in his head would sound when they escaped from his lips. Taking a deep breath, he commenced his story. After explaining Alec's hysterics Isabelle pondered, her mug in hand, grip loosening it fell to the floor rolling across the carpet. Her dark eyes wide with fear and realization.
"W-what is it?" Magnus stuttered terrified.
"Magnus your not a pervert for girls are you?" Isabelle asked. Magnus's expression was muddled, what the hell this this have to do with this topic.
"No, not exactly...."
"Close enough." Isabelle murmured beginning to raise her Tshirt from her torso. Magnus yelped in protest, demanding what she was doing but then fell silent when he saw the scars. These scars were not the delicate white lines left behind by past runes , these her long, deep ugly gashed taken into her skin. Whip marks.
"Isa-...." He muttered breathless "What in the..."
Eyes remorseful Iz lowered her shirt, sitting back into the beanbag, her form getting lost in the puffy cushion of the bean filled fabric. Picking up the empty tea mug she set it onto her dresser folding her hands in her lap. "Now Magnus," she said quietly, barely audible. " I think it's time I told you a story..."
"When Alec was fourteen he finally realized he was gay. He only told me and no one else. We were close siblings, we trusted each other with our lives, we still do. But somehow dad found out...I can't remember how, that was something we never really found out. Alec became a disgrace to him. Called him evil...impure...tainting the Lightwood name.
"After making sure mom wasn't home he would take him downstairs and strike him with his belt again and again. When I tried to intervene he did this to me. Mom never knew what he did, we never told her, the affair had already made their marriage unstable enough, we thought it would be selfish to bring our issues into it.
"The day Dad left for Idris to stay their permanently, was the day the weight of the world seemed to lift of my brothers shoulders. He was 16, he was never the same since those two years ago, what dad did to him, took pieces out of him, he's insecure and awkward about everything. He's always frightened.
"By the angel, he use to wake me up at 3 or 4 in the morning screaming from his nightmares, I'd go out and crawl in besides him to hold him and tell him it was alright that dad wasn't coming back to hurt him. He'd cry himself back to sleep. I feel like his insecurities are partly my doing, why didn't I tell mother what dad was doing maybe...just maybe..."
Isabelle couldn't continue as tears began to roll down her cheeks, she put her face in her hands and began to tremble. Magnus leaned over putting her face into his shirt. It didn't last long as Isabelle pushed herself away, wiping her tears from her face. "I hate crying." She murmured.
Magnus exhaled a small chuckle, this was the Isabelle he knew. Glancing at the clock he knew he should go so Alec wouldn't get suspicious , he had the information he had sought. Thanking Isabelle, he exited the institute. Walking into the cold winter air wrapping his coat tightly around his being, but it wasn't the winter chill that sent the shudder down his spine.
I apologize if it's kinda short :p next chapter will be longer cause a lot of stuff is going to go down, a lot of feels and drama. Thank you for reading hope you enjoyed :) 💕
Here's a little sneak peek for the next chapter: "He answered the phone laughter still ringing in his voice, which made him so much sexier. But his grin was wiped from his face in the blink of an eyes and all colour drained from Alec's face. "What did you just say?""
That's all you get ;)
