Alec POV

It was a simple task, he just had to twist the doorknob, but his hands shook so badly it was a challenge. Eventually he walked in, nearly knocked over by the force of Max when he ran and clung to his legs. He giggled looking up to him with big gray eyes and all Alec could do was smile. He picked Max up in his arms swinging him about causing his little brother to laugh more. As he carried him down the corridor his smile was compressed into a bloodless line. He told Max to run along that he would follow behind momentarily.

He was left behind to confront his father alone.

Robert stood tall and rigid as he always had, striding over to give his son a friendly pat on the back. "You've grown!" He said cheerily, which was quite odd.

"Y-yes!" Alec exclaimed nervously sweat building on his brow, "You look well father, it's nice to see you again."

Robert smiled, something Alec had never seen before. Was this a different man then from his childhood? He lead Alec down the hall a light skip in his step. "Now son I have someone I'd care to introduce you to. Hurry along now."

Alec scuttled after him into the dining room, Izzy sat next to Maryse at the long illuminated table her hair braided away from her face, Alec had to admit she looked quite pretty and the royal blue dress his mother wore was simple and suited her well. She had never looked so happy in all his life which he had seen her, he didn't want to ruin the moment. Isabelle glanced up at him and gave a quick apsmile before looking back into her lap. Alec caught a glimpse of her nervously wringing her napkin in her hands.

Alec was about to seat himself when his father yanked him back up. "Alexander you mustn't be so rude! Say hello to our guest!"

Flustered, Alec turned to see a girl sitting in the chair across from him. Her frame was small and delicate, thin hands set in her lap. She smiled her pink lips small on her face, the same matching shade on her cheeks, her pale hair in ringlets and the soft pink of her dress melting in with her ivory skin. She had the most piercing blue-gray eyes.

"Alexander this is Victoria Youngblood, Ms. Youngblood this is my son Alexander Lightwood." Robert announced.

Victoria stood hesitantly extending her hand, Alec took it in his shaking it politely. "Pleasure to meet you."

She nodded quietly in return. Robert looked at them beaming. Maryse cooed, "Oh this is so lovely! Finally together once again you two!"

Alec looked baffled and turned to his mother. "What are you implying?"

Robert set his eyebrows. "You two have met many times when you were both small, you must remember?"

Alec shook his head his cheeks growing red with embarrassment. "I'm very sorry Lady Youngblood I must've been to young to recall." He exclaimed. Once again her reply was a nod a small understanding smil on her face.

Isabelle looked up at him with warning eyes but said nothing. Why was she so anxious? "Hard to imagine it will only be another week!" Robert spoke with pride.

"Until what father?" Alec raised his eyebrows inquisitively.

"Until you say your vows my son!"

Alec's stomach plummeted, twisted into loops and knots. He suddenly felt dizzy, and was frightened he would upheave the content of his stomach. "E-excuse me...?"

Robert gestured for Victoria to explain and when she spoke Alex she realized her voice was small and delicate to match her frame. She bite on her lip tentatively unsure how to go about saying the sentence. "Well y-you see...umm..we have indeed known each other since we were small...our families have assiociated for years and...well...Alexander you are my fiancé."

(ARE YOUR MINDS BLOWN YET ?! Huh huh?!?!! Hahaha are you guys excited to see what road this is all gonna go down? And do you think poor mags is gonna be happy about it..? ..if he knows that is!! Stay tuned my lovelies!)
