Alec's sword collided with the ground as Robert darted to the side, avoiding his sons blow. Looking upwards he smirked wickedly, " why hello son."
Alec casting a poisonous glance to Robert striped across the room to a limp, unconscious Max and began untying his bindings. "Max, Max can you hear me. Your going to-" Alec jerked as he felt something sharp nudge into his gear with a terrifying suddenness.
"I wouldn't move if I were you, Lightwood." A cold voice droned behind him. Releasing his hands from the ropes he straightened his back. Internally his took a deep breath, he would reman calm.
Magnus had leaped down from the high out cropping of rock with cat like grace, observing the scene from a distance, concern written plainly upon his face. "Sebastian! Release him!" He shouted; sounding like is voice was somewhat strangled. "Your business is clearly with me!"
Sebastian's mouth quirk end delicately at the corners, his nearly invisible eyebrows raising into his hairline. And he laughed. Not an evil one, a genuine high pitched laugh. "I'm sorry what? "
"We know his possession is your doing, Sebastian. We can see right through your lies." Alec gritted through his teeth.
Sebastian made a quizzical noise in the back of his throat. "Yes. It is me. But it wasn't my idea, Lightwood. I'm just in it so I can gain my part of the bargain."
"Wha-" Alec exclaimed breathlessly.
"Do have any brains Alexander? Theirs only one other person here with me, and clearly the one who plotted this was not your timid little brother." Sebastian drawled.
Alec felt his chest constrict painfully, his breath sharply exiting from his lungs. His slowly shifted his gaze to Robert. He stood tall, his eyes piercing and cold.
"Why?" Alec managed to say through his shock, "why?"
Robert stood in silence as if he couldn't bear the look on his sons face, Alec couldn't imagine why. He had been able to look him in the eye when he had lashed him. How was this so different? "Goddamit dad! Answer me!" Robert opened his mouth, as if he were about to speak. Sebastian filled in whatever words he were about to spill forth.
"We made a deal." He said flatly. "Robert had given me access to enter Idris, as well as the Gard. On one condition." He smirked with glee, clearly the conflicting emotions running across
Alec's face gave him great pleasure. His fathomless, black gaze flicked to Magnus, "That sparkles here, no longer existed."
Alec heard the blood rushing through his ears, and his heart beat rapid in his chest. He had always distrusted his father, but he had never dreamed he would go this low. His teeth ground together, biting back words of rage he wanted to scream, but contained himself for the sake of Max, whom laid limp against the wooden stake.
"Alexander, let me explain I..." Alec was unsheathing his seraph blade, his head buzzed with a profound anger.
"You heartless manipulative, lying son of a-" as he raised his weapon beneath his fathers chin, a strangled noise came from behind him. He turned to see Magnus collapse onto his knees, clutching at his heart.
"Magnus!"
"I would suggest," Sebastian had his right hand raised in Magnus's direction. "That you do not murder a very important part of my plan, Alexander Lightwood." He clenched his outstretched fingers into a fist- Magnus emitting a choking noise from his throat. "Or he will face the consequences."
Magnus looked up, his face contorted in agony. "Alec I'll be alright, don't worry-" his breath caught again and his slid to the floor on his side, thin, brown hands spamming beside him.
