I heard the sound of her door close and then lock. I walked away from her apartment building and towards my sedan. I got into my car and started it. As I drove, I began to think about Skye. I get nervous when I am around her, and I am usually never the one to get nervous. After every interview, my old personal assistant Alexander would bring me files and documents about the people he interviewed. When I read Skye's papers and documents, there wasn't much about her home life just the various jobs she had. I could tell she was definitely a hardworking woman, but I wasn't interested in that, even though that is a good quality, I was interested in her specifically.

From the very first day I saw her picture I thought she was beautiful. Now that I am actually talking to her I can tell she is a very strong woman, and I really like that about her. She is a bit closed off though. I always want to learn more about her, but I fell like she never really opens up about herself. One thing I do not understand is why she had a giant bruise on her back. I discovered that today when I was cleaning up the cut she had on her back. Her shirt had moved over just a bit showing a part of it. It looked to be a very bad bruise too. Maybe I'm overthinking this way too much. It was probably just an accident, but for some reason I can't shake the feeling that maybe she's in trouble.

I parked in the parking lot of my apartment building and walked into the lobby. Several women were staring at me waving, but I paid no attention to them as for now I only had my eyes set on one girl. For now I just want to spend my time getting close to Skye. I walked up in the elevator and pushed the button for the 7th floor. I walked out of the elevator and went straight to my room. I got ready for bed, and then I laid down. After several minutes of tossing and turning in my bed, I drifted off to sleep.

BEEP BEEP

I hate alarm clocks so much sometimes. I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock and quickly turned it off. I stood up, got dressed, and then left to get something to eat on my way to work. I quickly stopped at a coffee shop and grabbed a bagel and some coffee. Then I was on my way to work. I entered my office to finish up a few things, and then I walked over to Skye's office so she could help me file some important papers. I was about to knock on her door, but I heard sniffling coming from the other side. I then knocked on her door.

"Skye...are you okay?"

"Yeah, just a second!" She said with a shaky voice.

I waited about another minute and then the door opened. I looked down to find Skye standing there smiling. She looked a little pale and her eyes were puffy and red. She had definitely been crying.

"Are you okay?" I asked her nervously.

"Yeah, everything is fine." She said. She said it in such a way it made it sound like she was trying to convince herself everything was okay more than she was trying to convince me.

"I know we only met yesterday, but I am your boss, and I do want you to know you can tell me if something is bothering you, okay?" I said looking her straight in her beautiful hazel eyes.

"Okay, but I already told you everything is fine." She said staring straight back at me.

"I was just letting you know." I said.

"Anyways, I need your help filing these papers." I said turning my back towards her as I started walking.

"Where are we going?" She asked following right behind me.

"To the filing room." I said chuckling.

"Oh, makes sense." She said as she started to giggle.

"I guess it does." I said grinning.

I still get that feeling in my stomach and chest when she's around me. Especially when she laughs. I need to figure out  if she's okay; I really want to be there for her if something is wrong. I want to be the one that can fix it for her. I looked back at her to see her looking at some of the paintings on the wall. I wonder if she knows how beautiful she is. I turned back around and opened the elevator. I pushed the lower level floor. I never understood why my dad decided to put the filing room in the basement but oh well.

We both walked out of the elevator and into the basement hallway. We walked down the hallway to the last door, and I opened it with my key. We entered the room, and I began telling her which papers go where. She seemed to catch on pretty quickly, and we spent the rest of the day down there talking.

"So Mr. Kasper, what is your favorite place to eat here?" She asked as she put another paper into the box.

"My favorite place to eat? Hmmm...that's tricky. My favorite place to eat is probably this little pizza place. It's not really downtown it's more out towards the country, but it's still really good."

"Never would of guessed that coming from you."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Well I thought you were going to say some big fancy place."

"The most expensive things aren't always the best."

"That is so true! This one time I bought this really expensive shirt from this store, and you wanna know how many days I had this shirt? I had this shirt for two days, and somehow I managed to rip a whole in it. I feel like the shirt should have lasted a lot longer than two days!" She said. She really must have liked that shirt I thought to myself.

I began to laugh at her little rant. I loved this side of her when she talked without me asking her to.

"Well maybe someday I'll buy you a new shirt." I said still laughing.

"Aw thanks Mr. Kasper you truly are my hero." She said sarcastically.

She had no idea how much I really wanted to be her hero.

We were in the file room until around 8:30. I was beginning to feel tired, and I could tell Skye was too. After we finished putting away all of the papers, I decided to head back to my office to finish up some more work. Skye got off at nine, and since she was tired I figured she was going to go home now. I have no idea why it made me sad to see her leave; I loved talking to her. I like how she doesn't throw herself at me like other girls do. That's why my last assistant was a man so I didn't have to deal with the constant flirting. I was a little hesitant when I hired Skye because I was afraid she would try to flirt with me all the time. I'm glad to see she's not that kind of girl at all.

She's actually quite different from most girls. I guess that's why I'm so interested in her. She's a bit more reserved than most girls I've been around. I do wish she would open up more to me though. I entered my office and sat down in my chair. I began doing various things on my laptop so I wouldn't have a lot to do tomorrow other than going to a meeting. I'd really rather spend another day talking to Skye though. Just looking at her can instantly put me in a good mood.

After finishing up around 11:00, I headed straight to my car. I started it, and then I drove home. About 20 minutes later, I entered my apartment. I took a quick shower, ate, brushed my teeth, and then went to bed.
