10 Months Later
Skye's POV
It's been a long time since I was released from the hospital. I've been doing really well, and I've also been going to a therapist regularly to discuss what happened with Jackson. It made me feel a lot better about myself and it has definitely helped. I can finally say that I'm very happy about my life right now. Elliot decided that we were going to move from his apartment into a nice house which is beautiful. Charlotte has been living with us, and she's made a great addition to our little family.
Elliot and I couldn't be more in love, but right now, we have to go to work. We usually spend most of the time in our office now doing loads of work. Elliot's always really busy during summer. I walked into my office and sat down. I started to do my work, and three hours later, I got an email from Elliot to come to his office. He decided to take an early lunch and decided to take me to the pizza shop we used to eat at all the time. After we ate, he took me back to the office. He seemed a little off the whole time, but I didn't ask him about it. I thought it was just work getting to him.
I noticed he followed me back to my office, and a lot of my coworkers were standing by my office too. I opened the door to see that everything has been decorated with flowers. A box of chocolate had been laid in the center of a heart made out of flower petals on my floor. I walked into the center of the heart and picked up the chocolate. When I turned around, Elliot was behind me down on one knee. I then saw Charlotte enter the room to watch.
"Skye," Elliot began talking, "I know we've only known each other for about a year, but I know you're the one for me. I love you so much, and I couldn't see myself with anyone else but you. I love your beautiful eyes or whenever you laugh your nose crinkles in the cutest way. I love how you are kind and caring to everyone you meet even if they've done something bad to you. I also love that you are forgiving. I promise I will protect you from the dangers in this world, and I also promise that I will love you every single second of every single day. So, I guess the real question is, will you marry me?"
Happy tears streamed down my cheeks as I nodded my head yes. Then I began to scream yes to him as he carefully put the ring on my finger.
"That would have been really awkward if you would have said no," He whispered into my ear as I died laughing.
"It's a good thing I didn't," I said as I kissed him passionately.
Five seconds after I kissed Elliot, I was attacked by Lily and Rebecca.
"My baby's getting married," Rebecca screamed causing Lily and me to burst into laughter.
Then Charlotte came up and gave us a hug. It was a group hug this time, like a family hug. I left that night feeling the happiest I've ever been in my whole life.
ONE YEAR LATER
The wedding was beautiful. I wore a poofy, lace wedding dress that had no straps on it. The front was covered in sparkly stuff and lace. It was beautiful. The room that we rented was decorated with every kind of flower you could name. The tables were decorated with silk cloth and roses in the middle. I loved everything about it. Charlotte got to be the flower girl. She wore a white dress that went down to her knees with a blue bow on the back. She had her hair in a fishtail braid. She looked absolutely stunning. The bridesmaids wore a similar dress only their dresses went to the floor. Elliot just wore a simple tux which made him look incredibly handsome.
All of our friends and families were there. Right now, Elliot, Charlotte and I are sitting out on the beach enjoying our honeymoon. I was very excited for tomorrow because it was Charlotte's birthday, and Elliot and I have the best present for her. I can't wait to give it to her.
The Next Day
Charlotte's POV
I woke up bright and early for my birthday today! I couldn't wait to see what Skye and Elliot got me. They keep talking about it, but they won't tell me what it is! Elliot had rented a beach house for two weeks for their honeymoon. I was so excited to learn that they wanted to take me too. It's like we're a real family now. I got ready and opened the door. Right as I walked out, I stepped on something. It was a note.
Come down to the gardens! - Love Elliot and Skye
That was my favorite part of the house. In the back, they had this beautiful garden with a big fountain in the middle. I loved to look at all the plants and flowers they had over there. It was very relaxing. I walked on the stone path that leads up to the gardens. After entering, I saw Skye and Elliot sitting at a table talking and laughing. I hope I find love like that some day. I walked up to them and sat down. They turned around to face me.
"Are you ready for one of your presents?" Skye asked me kindly.
"Yeah!" I said excitedly.
"Here you go," Elliot said handing me a piece of paper.
The top of it read, Adoption in bold letters. After reading a little bit of it, I realized they weren't putting me up for adoption, but they were adopting me! I put the piece of paper down and began to cry. Skye and Elliot gave me a huge hug, and I hugged them back.
"All I've ever wanted was a family who loved me," I said.
"We know, that's why we thought it would make a good present!" Skye said laughing.
"I need something to write with so I can sign this," I said pulling away from them.
"Here you go," Elliot said pulling out a pen.
I signed my name in all the spots making it official. We were already a true family, but now, we have the documents to prove it! I couldn't be happier. We walked down to the beach and watched the sun set. I was so happy to have a family that loved me now. We all watched the sun set talking and laughing. I couldn't wait to start my new life with them. This really is a true happy ending.
"I love you guys," Skye blurted out.
"I love you guys too," Elliot said.
"I love my family," I said as we all came in for a group hug.
"I also love happy endings," I said.
"This isn't the ending. This is only the beginning!" Skye said laughing.
Elliot got some water bottles and handed them to us.
"To our new life," he said as we clinked our water bottles together.
"To our new life!" Skye and I said.
To our new life
