Elliot's POV
I woke up at 12:00 the next day. I looked over at the bed to see Skye, but instead, I saw Charlotte. I was confused for a few seconds, but then I realized what happened last night. I'm glad she was finally able to get some sleep. I decided to go check on Skye. I entered the room to see all of her family there waiting for her to wake up. We all waited in there for about another hour until I heard the door open. Charlotte walked in and then signaled for me to come into the hallway.
"So, are you released now?" I asked her.
"Yeah, and I was thinking about your offer and..."
"And..."
"I want to come live with you guys," She said.
"Great!" I said.
Charlotte and I headed back to the room to see if Skye was awake yet. I walked in to find her still asleep. We sat back down right as everyone else decided to go eat. Charlotte sat next to me and rested her head on my shoulder. She looked like she was about to fall asleep. Right as Charlotte closed her eyes, Skye shot up out of bed. She looked around with a panic look on her face. Then her eyes finally landed on me.
"Skye!" I said as I shook Charlotte awake.
"Are you okay?" I asked as she moved the breathing mask off of her mouth.
Right as the mask left her face, she pulled me into a deep kiss.
"I love you so much!" She said with tears in her eyes.
"I love you too, babe," I replied as she smiled.
"By the way, your family is here," I said smiling.
She began to panic, but I quickly calmed her down.
"What!?" She said.
"Wait! Before you panic, I cleared up everything with them about Jackson," I said as she relaxed.
"Wait, so you know what happened to me then?" She asked.
"Lily told me, but please don't be mad at her she was only trying to help," I said.
"I'm not mad. I'm just really happy you're not breaking up with me because of it," She said smiling at me.
"I would never do that to you," I said.
"Promise?" She asked.
"Promise," I said pulling her into a hug.
"I also have some other good news to tell you," I said.
"What?" She asked as she pulled away from our hug.
"They caught Jackson," I said.
"Really? Dang, I've missed a lot," She said laughing excitedly.
"Yeah, but you're here now and that's all that matters," I said smiling as she kissed me again.
We were going to keep talking but then a nurse appeared. She came up to me and asked me to step out of the room for a few minutes. I sat in the hallway for a while, waiting for the nurse to come out. A few minutes later, she told me I could go in. Skye wasn't her usual bright, happy self when I walked back into the room. The nurse quickly tapped me on the shoulder right as I started to walk over to Skye. I stopped and then turned around as she whispered into my ear.
"She was sexually abused while she was there," The nurse said with tears in her eyes.
I ran over to Skye and hugged her tightly, never wanting to let go again. She sobbed into my chest for hours. Some people started to walk in the room but quickly left when they saw Skye crying into my chest. My heart ached for Skye, and I desperately wanted to make her feel better. All I wanted to do was to make her happy again.
"Shh...it's okay Skye. I'm right here with you, I will always be right here. I still and will always love you, no matter what," I said trying to make her feel better, but she just kept sobbing into my chest.
I held her as she cried for a long time while Charlotte sat behind Skye playing with her hair. She said a few things to Skye to try to make her feel better but nothing helped. Soon, Skye's body felt limp, and I could hear her soft snores. I laid her back on the bed trying not to wake her up. Charlotte stood off of the bed and sat back down in the chair. I sat next to her while Skye slept. I couldn't believe what had happened to Skye, none of us could. We decided not to tell her family or friends until Skye woke up.
"Do you think Skye will get over this?" Charlotte asked me.
"She's a strong girl. She can get through anything," I said with confidence.
"I hope you're right," She said.
"Me too," I mumbled.
"What?" She asked.
"Nothing," I said trying not to make Charlotte lose hope.
A little while later, Skye's family came in. They asked me why Skye had been crying, and I just said she was in pain from all the stuff they did to her. The doctor came in and also told us it was crazy that Skye wasn't dead or anything. She's a fighter. She's my fighter, and that was one of the many things I loved about her. I couldn't wait till she woke back up, but I understood that she would be needing lots of rest. A while later, we all fell asleep waiting for Skye to wake back up.
I woke up in the middle of the night to find Skye staring at me.
"Hey, babe," I said yawning.
"Hey..." She said quietly.
"You know I don't look at you any differently, right?" I asked.
"I know," She said with tears in her eyes.
"You're going to get through this. I'll be with you every step of the way," I told her.
"Thank you," She said as I sat on the bed and held her in my arms.
"For?" I questioned.
"Everything you've done for me," She said as she quickly cuddled into my chest.
"I did it because I love you," I told her.
"I love you too," She said smiling.
"Hey, Skye?"
"What?" She asked.
"I will always love you, no matter what," I whispered into her hear as she smiled at me before she fell asleep in my arms.
