I felt blood trickle down the side of my face. I could feel the huge cut on my forehead burning, it was definitely going to need stitches. It also didn't help that I was hanging completely upside down only making more blood flow from the cut. I quickly unbuckled my seat belt, causing me to fall onto the roof of the car. I looked above me to see Elliot hanging unconsciously in the driver's seat. I opened the door closest to me and crawled out. I immediately took my phone out from my back pocket and called for an ambulance. As I was calling, I backed up away from the car only to step on something. I moved my foot to see a piece of paper lying on the ground with something written on it.
The note read, People get hurt when you involve someone in our business, maybe you should stick to being alone... I was terrified of getting more people involved so I quickly realized I needed to leave Elliot and everyone else I met in this city behind me. It was time to move away. I shoved the paper in my pocket and ended the call once the ambulance pulled up. I told them that they needed to get Elliot out of the car quickly. They led me into the ambulance and began asking me if I was hurt or anywhere else other than my forehead. I told them that I didn't think I was hurt, but they began checking me out anyways. I wasn't able to relax the whole way to the hospital. I was so worried about Elliot, but they wouldn't tell me anything about his condition.
Once we got to the hospital, they began to carry me on a stretcher to a room. They brought in Elliot right beside me, he was also on a stretcher. I was finally able to relax when he turned his head towards me and smiled. I was sad that I only saw him for a minute though because they took him into a different room. Once we got in my hospital room, they took my off the stretcher and laid me down on the bed. Soon everything began to go black as they put me under anesthesia. When I woke up, it was around two in the morning.
"How are you feeling?" A nurse said as she walked into the room.
"I just feel tired," I replied.
"That's good! At least you're not in any pain." She said smiling.
I yawned a little and returned her smile back.
"Well I just came in here to check on you and we've begun notifying your families."
"Have you talked to mine yet?" I said a bit panicked.
"No, we started with his." She said sweetly.
"Actually, could you just not notify my family?" I said.
"Yeah, we usually ask patients before we do, but you were both still asleep." She said.
"Okay, and actually I have another question."
"Okay..."
"Do you know how Elliot is doing? He was the man that was brought in with me." I asked.
"He should be awake by tomorrow afternoon! We had to put a cast on his arm and gave him some stitches, but other than that he should be fine." She said smiling.
"Okay, thank you!" I said happily.
"Also, there are two women outside who wanted to come in whenever you woke up. Do you want me to let them come in?" She said.
"Yeah! That would be great, thanks." I said realizing it was probably Rebecca and Lily.
"Okay, I'll let them know." She said as she walked out of the room.
A few minutes later, Rebecca and Lily busted through the doors of my room. They ran straight to me and began to hug me.
"We're so glad you're okay!" Rebecca yelled.
