Evan woke up with a beautiful face in front of him, Connor Murphy. He cuddles close to his chest making him smile. "G-good morning." Evan whispered.
"Good morning love." He said to the love of his life. They were both hugging each other lovingly. They were both in college. Today they're going to their homes, for their break. They're supposed to pack their things already.
"Breakfast?" Connor asked, feeling energized to cook for him. "S-sure." Evan said as he nuzzled in his chest again. Connor giggled and sat up. He got up and kissed Evan's forehead. "I'm cooking this time, you rest my little sunshine." And after that, he sat up and walked to the kitchen.
Evan smiled, knowing he has the best boyfriend. He made a right choice ever since High school. He checked his phone for any notifications.
He froze by looking at the one single notification from his calendar. 'Father's day' his expression fell down as he remembered when his father left. He never bothered to ask his mom why, he didn't want to know. He hated him for leaving, but he can't judge because he didn't know if his mother was the one who sent him out, or his dad.
He got up slowly, hearing Connor shouting that he's done and he better be there already or he'll be attacked by tickles.
He walked to the door opening it and walking to their table. Their dorm wasn't really big, but it can fit 3 people inside.
"Why so sad?" Connor asked, noticing Evan's gloomy face. "I-it's father's d-day." He replied.
Connor knew what that meant already. He walked up to his boyfriend and comforted him. "It'll be fine, we're in college. We can visit him!" He said as he rubbed his back. "O-ok." Evan replied. Connor grabbed his chin. "Hey, come on smile for me?" He asked making puppy dog eyes that Evan's couldn't resist saying no.
He smiled, it made Connor's heart melt. He loved his adorable smile, it can make any darkness light up. "There we go." He said as he kissed Evan on the lips. He giggled "I love you."
They both ate breakfast and packed their things. After a few hours they were ready. They took Connor's car. They decided to go to the Murphy's household. After that they went to Evan's house. He was really surprised when another car was pulled up on the front.
"Whose is it?" Connor asked. "I honestly have no idea. Let's go check it out. They both knocked on the door. Thankfully Heidi opened it. "EVAN! CONNOR! Oh it's been a while, honey! How was college? Come in" She said as she stepped aside to let them in.
"College's been fine mom. Thanks to Connor, I got through with it all." He said making Connor blush. "What are you talking about Evan? You were the one who helped me with my grades and especially homework!" Connor argued, but in a good way.
"Just seeing your presence is enough for me to make it." Evan replied, he was blushing as well. They all heard footsteps from upstairs coming down.
"Who's that Heidi?" The man asked. "Uhmm...well, your son." She replied, the man rushed down the steps walking up to him. "E-evan?"
Evan just looked at him, not really remembering who he is. "Uhmm yes?" Evan said, it sort of came out as a question.
"Oh it's been so long! I missed you." He said as he gave him a hug. "I'm sorry, but who are you?" Evan asked, the man still hugging him. Heidi giggled. "Evan, he's your father. He's been here for a while, sorry I couldn't tell you this sooner. I didn't want you to be disturbed in classes."
He just stared at him after pulling away. "Oh, uhm hi? I'm Evan, this is my boyfriend, Connor Murphy." He said holding Connor's arm and pulling him close. He then placed an arm around his shoulder.
He's hoping that his father wouldn't judge them like what Larry did. "Well...Uh...That's nice...Nice to meet you Connor." He said sticking out his hand. Evan let out a long sigh of relief. Connor gladly shook his hand.
"Nice to meet you too sir." He then yanked Connor forward. "You better take care of my son or else you won't be able to live your life." He glared at him. This made him gulp and nod. "Y-yes sir, I love your son.I promise not to hurt him at all costs. I will risk my life for him." He smiled nervously.
"Of course." He replied now with a smile on his face. "Good! Now, Evan wanna hang?" He asked. Evan wasn't so sure. He didn't know if he can trust his dad, who left him with his mom for years. But he couldn't turn away from this. He looked at his mom for assurance, she was nodding. He nods as well.
"Great! Let's go." He said as he took his hand and walking to his car. Leaving Connor and Heidi alone in the house. He drove them to somewhere. Evan decided not to question him and just go on with it. "So...How was life without me?" He asked.
Evan just sat there not knowing what to say. "Look...I know I left, but it was for some reason. I'm sorry...Please give me a chance." He said trying his best to talk to his son. Evan's the type of person who gives people the benefit of the doubt. He didn't want to be mean to his dad that's really trying.
"Ok....Well uhm...I just had a hard time in high school. I felt so alone, no one was there for me. Mom was working so she didn't really have time. I didn't want anyone to be bothered by me. Until Connor came to my life and changed it. He was there. He made me feel loved." Evan said not really making eye contact.
His father felt guilty, He realized that he wasn't there for his son. He didn't know how to reply. After a few minutes he decided what to say. "I'm sorry...I wish I was there for you." He said.
"W-Why...d-did you...leave?" Evan asked nervously. Another silence for a few minutes. "I....It...I..." Was all that came out. "I did something...That I completely regret, a lot! It was an accident...Your mom...She...She didn't think it was...and kicked me out..." He looked at the road.
'It's my fault...I'm sorry...I really am. I...I'm over it....It's over now I promise." He continued.
They arrived at the edge of a cliff. It was almost evening, so the view would be amazing. He knew Evan loved trees for some reason. Heidi would talk about it some times. "Wh-where are we?" He asked. Amazed by the view.
"You love trees, right? I decided we could go here. I used to come here when I was a kid. I loved trees as well. I guess that's were you got it from? I don't know. I did work at a nature park." He said while looking at the wonderful view.
"I used to come here whenever I feel alone...There were some times I would think about jumping off this cliff. Until your mom made me stop, she was there for me..." He continued. Evan listened, he felt the same.
He hugged his father. "Well...Starting from this day...Mom wouldn't be the only person who will be there for you...dad." His father looked at his sun, he was about to cry. "Happy father's day...I love you dad." He said now in tears of joy.
"I love you too....Son." He said as they both sat on the edge of the cliff. enjoying the view, and each other's presence.
Feels like they could go on for forever this way. Father and son...On a perfect day.
