Hours later when Rita gain consciousness and opened her eyes, everything around her seemed hazy. She rubbed her eyes to be able to see clearly. She saw that she was in her flat only but, she wondered what the hell was she doing on floor in the hall.

Confused, she glanced around her. It seemed something really bad had happened there but she was not able to recall anything even on trying hard.

She tried getting up, but couldn't make herself as she suddenly felt a sharp pain at back of her head. Her hand went to the spot of pain. She felt her hair strands were sticky. She pressed the spot and another wave of pain hit her.

On checking her hand, she found half dried bood sticked on her fingers. And with that, all of a sudden, memories came rushing back to her mind like someone had pressed replay button.

"That woman....yeah...I saw her, that evil grin, that rage on her face, she had said that I have to die...why would she say that..who was she?" Rita shuddered as another jab of pain made her whimper.

She once again tried to get up, and this time she got successful.

She glanced at her legs. Her ankle too, had few bruised and was swollen. May be it got twisted.

It was nine in the morning. Everything seemed normal except the things lying here and there in haphazard manner and ofcourse, that unbearable pungent smell was still there.

Limping she walked to the kitchen. She grabbed first aid box and came back to the hall. She sat on the small coffee table, only furniture which wasn't turned upside down. Sitting there, she carefully started cleaning and dressing up her wounds. She popped a strong pain killer.

One thing which she couldn't understand was that how come she was alive. She could have been easily killed after she got unconscious last night. Then, why that woman spared her? She recalled her words she heard just before loosing consciousness.

"You. Have. To. Die."

When she wanted to kill her, then it makes no sense that she would let her go like this.

Rita was lost in her thoughts when something bright caught her eyes. It was the gift Raj has given her last night. It was lying behind the legs of upturned chair. She slowly walked and picked it up. She sighed in relief seeing that box was intact.

Carefully she unwrapped the gift paper. It revealed beautiful heart shaped box. She opened it and seeing what was inside it, her jaw dropped.

It was a beautiful rose gold heart- shaped pendant.

"Its so pretty." Words escaped her lips and for that moment she almost forgot that she had nearly escaped death few hours ago.

She looked out for her phone. It was lying near a broken flower vase. She got up and picked it. It had got big scratches on it. It must have slipped from her hand during last night chaos. She checked if it was working or not. Luckily it was, but the battery had almost drained. She opened the messaging app and quickly typed a message for Raj.
