the world wasn't a place for people like him. it wasn't a place for people who didn't smile, smile without a reason, or smile simply because they should.
it wasn't a place for people who had something to say about the things the teachers didn't want to talk about. it wasn't a place for people who wrote poems full of twisted words and sour images and shared them with their English class, or a place for people who didn't smile when they saw their friends, and especially wasn't a place for people who didn't have any at all.
it wasn't a place for people who stared too long at the suicide prevention hotline posters taped up in the halls, or a place for people who didn't compete for good grades and turned in homework pages with water stains and crinkled edges and sloppy answers. the world wasn't a place for people who woke up everyday and reminded themselves that they didn't belong here and never would.
it wasn't a place for people who didn't want to be there. it was not a place for people with tight throats and burning eyes who couldn't express how much they wished to be nothing at all. it just wasn't.
