A/N so i know i said i would make this a series but i'm honestly going to back off and just make this sequel for you guys. this isn't my best work (compared to my one shots definitely not) and i just want to get it over and done with. i'm sorry for those of you that were looking forward to a series.

"Steph! I'm gonna get you!"
The little girl giggled as she ran from her father, her arms outstretched in front of her to keep her balanced. "Dada, no!"
Tobias laughed and picked her up, swinging her around and placing her on his shoulders, running around the room to make her feel like she was flying. She lay her head on her father's, mumbling tiredly, "I love you, Dada."
He beamed and responded softly. "I love you too, my beautiful princess."
Tris looked back at the both of them, her lips opening slightly to let out a small laugh. She quickly grabbed her phone and took a picture of the cute scene unraveling in front of her.
Tobias looked back at her and laughed, approaching her with a sort of skip in his step; to her, he seemed like he was never happier.
He grabbed her arm and kissed her softly, bringing their daughter down between them and holding her as she curled up against him. Tris responded to the kiss immediately, her hands on his chest, her fingers curling around the fabric of his shirt.
"I love you," he murmured softly. "More than anything."
She smiled up at him, kissing his cheek softly. "I love you too."

"Dad, no," sobbed the girl, standing by her father's side as he gasped for air quietly. "Dad, please, stay."
"Steph, this is how the world works sometimes," whispered Tobias, his lips turning up into a small smile. His bony and wrinkled hand reached for hers as she leaned over the bed, her tears falling onto his chest.
"I can't lose you," she said as she kissed his forehead softly.
"I love you, Stephanie," murmured Tobias through closed lips, squeezing her hand gently.
Then, a breath left his lips and his hand slowly went limp against hers, the continuous beep of the heart monitor flatlining filling the room.
