Crash Landing On The Edge (HTTYD/RTTE)

Chapter 1|Frightening & Sweet

(This is 2 years after her village burned)

I was walking through the forest, hoping to find a cave to project myself from the harsh winds. Eventually I find a good cave, big enough for me and maybe two other people.

I enter the cave putting my stuff down. Right when I walk through the mouth of the cave I step on something. When I look down I see a dragon's tail that's black as ash and smoke. I started to hear a low growl. When I start to walk backwards the tail rapped around my ankle and lifted me of the ground. It held me upside down. I tried to break free but no luck.

So far at this point I decided to not struggle, if I did it would be as pointless as my life. When the dragon came into the moonlight I could see it in all its beauty. It was so dark, it had gorgeous blue eyes and dark black scales.

It started to growl at me and bare its teeth, but for some reason it had no teeth. All of a sudden it had teeth. Retractable teeth, what dragon has retracting teeth? I asked myself while making a mental note.

Then it shook me violently watching my knife on my side. Finally my knife was shook out of it's holster and threw on the ground to where I couldn't reach it. The dragon smiled at its work.

"Are you serious?" I said unhappily. The dragon made a noise that sounded like a laugh.

"Grr... What do you want?!" I shouted. The dragon just stared at me with it's head tilted to the side. Then it put me down and laid there beside me, sniffing me. I held my hand up to stop it but instead... it put it's head to my palm. I open my eyes and look at her.

"Hmm... can you fly me?" I asked her. She rapped her tail around my waist and put me on her back. When I got a secured grip she jumped off a cliff and started flying mid air, gliding over the water's surface. Flying at night was so beautiful, watch the moonlight shimmer over the water.

Finally we landed."Well, if you're staying with me you need a name. How bout Starlight?" I asked her. The black dragon shook her head,"Okay, umm... what about, what about StarStruck?" I asked her. She smiled showing her teeth. I nodded my head and smiled back.

She laid down in her cave, me beside her. She looked at a pile of twigs in the corner and shot some plasma at it, causing it to go up in flames.
NightFury! That's what she is. I thought. Eventually we were both fast asleep...
