Chapter 14|The Death Song

In the morning, the sun shining bright, I went for a walk around the island with StarStruck.

"Hmm... I wonder, do you think they have that fruit you like?" I asked her. She started to jump everywhere around me,"Alright, alright. Let's go then."

With that we went looking for that fruit. While we were walking I noticed heavy footsteps behind us. It sounded like a dragon and a rider maybe.

Eventually all I heard was the rider's footsteps. Soon they were right behind me. When I turned around i didn't see anyone. Then I felt someone's arms wrap around my waist. That's when I realized Hiccup was following me.

"Seriously Hiccup!" I said looking behind me. Sure enough, it was Hiccup,"You scared me!" He started laughing.

"Where you going?" He asked laughing.

"No where, now let me go!" I shouted. He still didn't let go.

"I'm coming with you." He said finally letting go of me.

"NO! I do not need you! Go back to the edge why don't ya?!" I said turning all the way around. He just looked at me.

"There are some dangerous dragons here on our island, I don't want you to get hurt." He told me. I nodded and stared walking.

Eventually we came to a weird rock formation. It was almost like the rocks formed a circle but not completely. In the middle there were piles of bones covered in this hard amber like substance. All of a sudden Hiccup got tense.

"Um... I don't think we should be here." He told me,"We should go." With that he turned around and tried to walk away. Luckily StarStruck was right behind him, she didn't let him pass her.

"We are staying here." I said definitely and walked straight into the rocks. All of a sudden I heard a blood curling shriek, then I saw the source of the shriek. It was a Death Song.

"HICCUP!" I screamed turning around running straight for him, pinning him to ground,"You know there's a Death Song on your island right?" I asked him. He said nothing for a second.

"Yes, we know about the Death Song. Now my question is... Why did you have to tackle me?!" He shouted. I just shrugged. Before I could say something he just push me off him.

When I saw what he was looking at I just screamed. Then it shot this amber goo at Toothless and StarStruck.

"No!" I screamed and ran to StarStruck,"Hiccup, what is this stuff?"

"We don't know exactly what it is but we know how to break it." He told me. Then he took out this canister and a sword,"Monstrous Nightmare jell." He said. When he tried to pour the stuff on the amber cocoon, nothing came out of the canister.

"Um... Hiccup, what are doing?" I asked him nervously. He looked at me and shook the canister frantically.

"There's supposed to be some Monstrous Nightmare jell in this but someone must've used it all." He exclaimed. Then the dragon shot that goo at me but barely missed.

"HICCUP!" I screamed. Then I started running with the dragon following me.

"Don't lead it to the edge!" He shouted. I did it anyway.

When I came running to the edge everyone stared at me. Then they saw the Death Song and started running. Finally we stopped and hid.

"Why did you bring that thing here?" Astride whispered.

"I don't know! But Toothless and StarStruck are stuck in this amber goo and we can't get them out." I told them.

"Why not? Hiccup should have some Monstrous Nightmare jell." Heather told me.

"Someone used it all." I said looking at the twins. They laughed nervously and backed up slightly.

"We need to get some more to Hiccup then." Astride said going to get some more Monstrous Nightmare jell from Hook Fang.

"Someone needs to district that thing." Snotloud exclaimed. We all looked at him.

"You are doing it!" I screamed pushing at the Death Song. The Death Song just looked at him, then it shrieked and charged at him. Snotloud stared to run and scream. It was hilarious.

"You're doing great!" Tuffnut shouted.

"Yep, he's a natural." Ruffnut said shaking her head in agreement. Finally Astride had gotten enough of the Nightmare jell to give to Hiccup.

"Here, go and give this to Hiccup." Astride told me. I did exactly as she said, find Hiccup and give it to him.

Time Skip_________________________

"Hiccup!" I shouted running towards him,"I got some Monstrous Nightmare jell!"

"Awesome, let me see it. How much do you have?" He said looking at the canister.

"I don't know, Astride got it for me." I told him. He took the canister from me and poured some stuff on the hard amber rock like stuff that surrounded Toothless and StarStruck. Then he took his sword and pushed a button that lit it on fire. I took a step back. He hit the amber rock once and it broke. He got Toothless first then StarStruck.

"Come on, let's get that Death Song out of the edge." Hiccup suggested and stated running towards the edge. StarStruck threw me on her back and started following Hiccup.

When we got back to the edge there was that amber rock stuff everywhere. The twins including their dragon were covered, Heather and her dragon Windsheer were covered, and, of course Snotloud, Fishlegs, Meatlug, and Hook Fang were covered.

I don't know how but Astride and Stormfly weren't covered and in completely harms way.

"Morgan, attack the Death Song while I help everyone else." Hiccup told me. I went in front of the dragon and screamed at it.

"Hey! You! Weirdo!" The Death Song looked at me confused,"Yeah you!....." I paused to think,"You sing weird!" Then it flared it's ruff around its head and flared it's wings then charged at me. I freaked out and ran.

StarStruck came up behind me and shot an ice blast at it. It's mouth froze and was encased in ice. The dragon stopped and clawed at the ice as it pulled it's head to the ground with a thud.

"StarStruck! You didn't have to do that!" I shouted at her. She ducked her head down to the ground and whimpered slightly.

Then the Death Song got up with it's head hanging slightly and walked off. By then Hiccup had broke everyone out of that amber rock stuff, and was breaking the stuff that covered the houses.

"I hope that never happens again." Heather said with a sigh. We all nodded in agreement.

"Okay, I think I'm just gonna go walk along the beach." I said, kinda traumatized. Then me and StarStruck walked to the beach.

As the sun started to set I heard someone say my name not far behind me. When I turned around I saw Hiccup and Toothless. Soon they caught up to me and StarStruck. They began to walk beside us.

"So, about today..." Hiccup began but I stopped him.

"I know, I should've listened to you and I'm sorry." I said. I felt Hiccup grab my hand.

"You don't have to be sorry... just, next time, take me with you when you go walking like that, ok?" I nodded my head. We kept walking along the shore.

Eventually we stopped and sat on a rock. We sat for who knows how long watching the sunset. The thing I'll never forget is how Hiccup held me. Normal cuddle I guess, but... it didn't feel normal to me. Probably because he's never held me like this or showed me this kind of affection.

Then it started to get dark.

"I thing we should get going." Hiccup said, but I pretended to be asleep. Then I felt him pick me up and walk to my house. Eventually I was in my bed, curled up with StarStruck.

Okay, this chapter was so long! I guess I'm getting a bit better at writing. BYE!
