summary: title basically explains it.
Damian Wayne had remembered the night he discovered his first note. It was the night after he had hung out with Jon. The note was tucked into the belt of his suit. If it hadn't been for the irritation it caused, he would've never noticed it.
Hey, I like you a lot ,':)
- xDamian began to examine the letter, looking for hints to help him find out who had written the note. The writing was extremely foreign to the boy; he knew it hadn't come from somebody he knew.
After a couple minutes, Damian realized the note didn't mean anything. It had been most likely misplaced.
Boy was he wrong.
The second note he received had the boy even more surprised than he was with the first note.
You remind of all that's good in the world
- xReading this note, he knew two things. One: it was the same person as before, due to the fact the hand writing was identical. Two: whoever it was happened to be extremely sappy. Once again, he didn't think anything of it.
By the end of the month, Damian had 4 notes total:
Cold in my professions, warm in my friendships, I wish my dear Wayne, it might be in my power, by actions rather than words to convince you that I love you - *says as they use words, which come from our very own founding father, to convince you that they love you* Gosh I'm so sorry. I hadn't come up with anything as cliche as usual. The next one will hopefully be better I promise- X
Damian smiled at that note. He knew one more thing about the person behind the notes; they were a complete dork.
I can't help but smile at the mere thought of you - x
Damian began blush. Was he possibly falling for someone he may have never met?
Then it hit him: he had been played the whole time. Whoever was writing these notes had been toying with him for their own entertainment purposes. He knew there was no chance someone could fall for him. The notes were a prank, possibly put on by one of his brothers.
Damian hated to admit it, but who could love someone like him?
After he came to that realization, he began to stop checking his belt weekly for a note.
He wasn't going to allow this to go any further.
2 weeks after he had stopped check his belt, Jon had came over with his ukulele.
"Can you even play that thing?" Damian asked as he fiddled with the strings.
"Of course not, I just bought this to admire. Not play." Jon said sarcastically.
"Hey, don't you get cocky with me Kent." Damian exclaimed, as Jon had never given him a sarcastic remark.
Jon strung a C note and then began to softly sing:
'Wise men say....'
The day after Jon visited, Damian felt that familiar irritation in his belt.
Part of him wanted to yell; he didn't want to continue playing this game. Yet another part of him craved to see another sappy remark the writer had left:
But I can't help falling in love with you - X
The line was awfully familiar. Where had he heard it? Then it hit him: Jon. The song Jon had sung yesterday including those lyrics. The boy was filled with joy as he had finally figured out who had been writing the notes. All it took was an eight letter line for Damian to realize that Jon was the person.
He ran two his room and began to dial Jon's phone number eagerly.
It took two rings until the younger boy had finally answered:
"Damian it's 8:45, my bedtimes at 9. You are extremely aware of that?" Jon groaned.
"Yes Jon, I am very aware of your bedtime. I just needed to confront you about a couple things. Is that alright with you?" Damian asked.
"Shoot." Jon said as he let out a yawn.
"First off, do you not understand how much stress you put on my shoulder? Secondly, wow you are by far thee most sappiest person I have ever met. Lastly , really Jon? Using Alexander Hamilton's very own words to John Laurens to describe how you felt about me?" Damian beamed.
Although none of them could see it, both boys were currently smiling like idiots.
"How could I have not used it to show how I feel about you? It was basically screaming 'Jon show Damian how much you love me by changing laurens to Wayne'. I swear if he wasn't dead, Alexander Hamilton would be nodding in approval." Both of the boys had began to laugh.
"What gave it away?" Jon asked, wanting to know what note had exposed him.
"Next time you write to me, ensure that you won't use a line from a song that you had sung to me the previous day as you're note." Damian smirked.

didn't know how to end it so decided to keep it just like that. I might delete due to the fact that I hadn't planned on writing at all today but ya know ?
