Exposure - Rose and Rosie

Chapter 7

The weeks pass, and I learn very little about my course and a lot about overindulging in alcohol and crashing essays.

I meet new people and form an almost squad-like relationship with Liv, Kat, Emma, a girl called kassie and a boy called Joe. 

We eat lunch almost every day together and get to know each other more and more.

Todays topic at hand... Sex.

Joe brings it up... of course. 

Kassie laughs when Joe re-encounts his awkward first time, "Mines wasn't that bad, we were just friends."

"With Benefits.", Emma retorts sticking out her toungue.

Liv juts in, "Mines was awful... But men are just awful in general. Am I right Rose?"

I snort, "Yeah. That's why I'm a lesbian"

Everyone falls quite, and I regret my words immediately.

Joe is the first to break the silence. "That's hot."

I turn to him, "My sexuality is hot?"

He smirks.

I feel somewhat disgusted, I know Joe means no harm but it sucks when people think of my sexuality as a joke.

I get up and leave the table. Kat follows me.

"Rose wait up." In school I hated Kat Small, she followed Liv around like a lap dog. In college, however... She has distanced herself- become nicer even.

"I get how you feel Rose... they don't respect who you want to date."

I nod in a sarcastic manner, "Do you now?..."

Suddenly her shoes have become the most interesting thing in the room, "Yeah... I do." and she kisses me.
