"I'm sorry about school. People suck. Where do you want to go now? We can go any - " Michael begins, but I cut him off.
"The hospital. Please."
I'm going insane without AJ and Jasmine. Michael takes us there and I have to fight the urge to run inside. We talk to the receptionist and quickly head to Jasmine's room, where they both sit, watching a movie I don't recognize.
"Hey!" AJ says.
Michael and I grab chairs and join them. I start actually watching the film, but they all begin to talk and I can't focus. I feel myself starting to slip away. I get the sensation of dipping my leg into water and the idea that I'm going to drown myself in it.
I'm getting lonely again. It's happening. The idea makes me sick. I think I'm going to throw up.
Jasmine says something to me, but I don't hear her.
"What?" I ask.
Jasmine shakes her head, grinning. "Distracted?"
I just nod.
