Eleanore's POV

"What are you staring at?" The grotesque man growled and yanked my hair back.

"Hmmm..." I pushed out, willing my face to fall into a mask of cold, cruel ice. "Maybe I'm staring at that smile you carved into your cheeks."

At this he froze and furrowed his brows. "How do you know about that..." he breathed out.

"Why do you care? Is it because I was staring at you the same way your own mother stared at you? As if you were a monster-"

"SHUT UP!" He screamed and pushed me away. I stumbled, trying to regain my breath. My arm seared with pain and I glanced at it to see a deep gash along it. I better stop the bleeding.

"You... You." I looked back up at the maniac to see him gazing at me with two insane orbs. His breaths came quick. Shallow.

"How did you know any of that?" He took a few steps back, cautious, as if trying to rein some control over himself. Good, I managed to throw him off. But I don't have time for him right now.

I took a few careful steps back until I bumped into August.

"Ellie we need to run-"

"No." I cut him off sharply. I didn't take my eyes off the killer as I said to my dear brother. "We won't make it if both of us run. You run and call for help-"

"There's no way in hell I'm leaving you alone!" August screamed and took my arm. "We're running together-"

"We won't make it. If you waste anymore time-" I turned around to order my brother to run, when I saw tears running down his bronze cheeks, out of his honey-brown eyes. My face fell slack.

"I'm not leaving you alone, Ellie."

August's POV

There's no way I'm leaving her. How can she even ask me of that. I'm not leaving my sister alone. Not again. Never again.

Memories flashed before my eyes and before I could stop them, tears flowed down my cheeks.

"Augie!" My sister called and laughed. Laughed and smiled and cried and lived. I ran after her, giggling in joy. We were out playing in the park, late. Like we always were.

I couldn't have known.

My sister ran into a tall figure. Pale arms wrapped around her. I looked up, but could not make out the face.

I couldn't have known.

"Run!" She screamed. So I did. I couldn't do a thing as the man carried her off.

I couldn't have known...

When my sister returned to me... She forgot how to laugh.

"I'm not leaving you alone, Ellie." I said firmly and grabbed her hands. That psycho looked stunned. This is our chance.

Hanging onto Ellie for dear life, I sprinted. Through the trees, jumping over the roots and twigs. Since when were there so many trees in this park? Why is it so big?

We ran and ran without a stop.

"August, wait..." My sister breathed.

"We can't stop. He might be right behind us." I rasped out and kept on running.

"Something isn't right-"

"You were nearly killed by some douche, we are being chased by a serial killer, and it looks like we are lost. Yes, Ellie, something isn't right!"

I was about to argue further when she yanked my arm back with formidable force. My breath knocked out of my chest and I nearly fell. I looked at my sister to see her nearly glaring at me.

"Look around, August. We lost the guy, but more importantly, look around us." I furrowed my brows and looked around. It was dusk, the sun already out of sight, hidden by the trees. Trees... Trees.... Why are there so many trees around us?

I turned around. More trees. Close growing, wild, unkept trees. Not a single building to be seen above the treetops. Trees and nothing but trees. Not the sort of trees you'd see in a park but...

"A forest..." I blurted out in confusion.

"Yes, August." My sister went on, stepping loser to me, pulling me out of my little trance. Her gaze cold and calculating. "A forest. Now think about it. We were in a city moments ago. There isn't a single forest miles around, yet we are standing in one."

"Maybe we ran-"

"Impossible" She gave a curt shake of her head. "Not a forest anywhere around where we live."

My eyes widened as I kept looking around. Indeed, we were standing in a middle of an unkept, wild forest. The sun was setting fast.

"Then... Where the hell are we?"

A) Try to find a way back. You couldn't be far off from your school. You could just backtrack and go back the way you came from.

B) Make shelter and a campfire. The sun is setting fast. The temperature will drop fast, and the cold is unforgiving in autumn.

C) Keep moving. It's too dangerous to settle, god knows what lives in this forest. You can stay warm by moving around, and perhaps you'll find a shack or some other shelter, or even a road.
