My heart stopped as he looked at me and I didn't take my eyes from his, I was intrigued and confused as to what was happening.
The other boys looked at each other in complete confusion and George stepped forward, as if he was about to tap Josh on the shoulder. But Jaymi rested his hand on George's shoulder and pulled him back, shaking his head and turning his attention back to Josh.
The woman who was presenting was talking quietly into her ear piece and nodded. I was half expecting her to take the microphone away from Josh but instead she stood and watched him, her curiosity getting the better of her.
I saw the cameraman shuffle over slightly to get a better shot of Josh and then I felt everyone's eyes in the room turn to me as they saw the cause of Josh's attention and I heard a few gasps and whispers as they realised who I was.
"That's Lily, the girl he met on holiday"
"Why is she here?"
I ignored the comments around me and instead kept my eyes on his and watched as he cleared his throat and spoke into the microphone. The camera was poised on him and everyone looked between the two of us as he spoke.
"I have never been the type of person to give away my heart so easily. Yet last year, I gave it away within a couple of days. When I went away on holiday last year I expected to have a couple of weeks of relaxation and nothing more, yet I met someone who means more to me than my own life."
"I want to ask, how many people watching this are in love? Out of all of you watching, how many of you are in love with someone, yet you are not with them? And how many of you cannot be with the one they love, because of the media? How many cannot be with the one they love because the media have scared her so much that she is too scared to be with them?"
He spoke clearly and confidently and stayed silent for a few seconds to allow everyone to take in what he had just said. The room was completely silent and everyone was watching him.
"Well, I can say I am one of them. I am completely in love with Lily Smith and I haven't stopped loving her since the day I met her. Being apart from her was the hardest few months of my life, it was almost unbearable. When I saw her again a few weeks ago, she made me feel happy again. She made me feel myself again."
Gasps echoed around the room as everyone turned round to look at me, their eyes wide and mouths open. I didn't even feel the need to look at them, my eyes filled with tears and the only person I cared about right now was Josh.
He then cleared his throat again to get everyone's attention and all of the people in the room turned back to look at him.
"The media threatened our relationship on holiday, they ruined our relationship a couple of months later. But now I'm asking the media to help get our relationship back. I needed to do this to show I am not afraid to tell everyone how I feel, I am not afraid to tell the world who I love."
"I need to do this to show to everyone there was never anything going on between me and Daisy, I am ashamed to admit it was a publicity stunt"
Gasps followed his confession but no one questioned him, instead allowing him to carry on what he was saying.
"But there has never been any doubt in my mind that the one I want to be with for the rest of my life is this girl in front of me, Lily"
He pointed to me as he finished speaking and I noticed out of the corner of my eye that the camera swung round to point straight at me. Tears were well and truly falling down my cheeks uncontrollably and I smiled weakly at Josh as he looked at me in adoration.
He had just said everything I had wanted him to say and he had told the world how he felt about me. I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders and as I looked around the room I felt so amazed that everyone was smiling at me and giving me encouraging looks.
I took a few tentative steps towards the stage and I was thankful when Josh jumped off and practically ran to me, picking me up in his arms and spinning me around in front of everyone. I could hear cheering and clapping around us but my eyes were focused on Josh, and my mind was then overwhelmed by him as his lips met mine and he kissed me passionately.
He gently placed me on the ground again and leant down to whisper "I love you" in my ear.
I felt like my heart could burst and I whispered "I love you too" back, wrapping my arms around his neck and hugging him tightly.
"Can we go somewhere private?" He whispered in my ear, gently leaning away and taking my hands in his.
I nodded weakly and he smiled, leading us out of the main door.
Instead of going down the stairs where we had come from, he took us up the stairs that spiralled above us. I hadn't taken much notice of them as we arrived, mainly because they were cornered off.
"Are you sure we are allowed up here?" I asked him nervously, not wanting to be trespassing.
"We will be ok, I highly doubt anyone will check anyway" he smiled cheekily, making me roll my eyes but follow him as he began leading me up the stairs.
As we got further to the top of the staircase I felt a cold air blowing around me, coming from the door at the top. As we eventually climbed the last step Josh pushed the heavy door open and a blast of cold air flew past us, making me shiver and cling closer to him.
"It will be worth it" he smiled, pulling me close as we walked out of the door.
He was right. We were on the roof of the building overlooking the whole city.
The London eye was right in front of us and the bright lights all around illuminated the night sky.
I gasped in amazement as I looked around us and I wrapped my arms around Josh's neck, standing on my tip toes and laughing as he lifted me off the ground and spun me around. He laughed along as he spun me around and his laughter filled the evening air, the sound making my heart burst with happiness.
He finally put me down but kept his arms around me, letting me cuddle close to him for warmth.
"We have about two hours till midnight" he said quietly, "do you want to go back down to the party and come back here for the fireworks?"
I shook my head and looked up at him, "we can dance here" I smiled. We could hear the music coming from downstairs and a big smile appeared on his face as he held his hand out for me.
"May I have this dance?" He asked me in his most posh voice.
"You may" I replied, giggling as I placed my hand in his.
