"Lucy, why on earth are you bringing hair straighteners camping?" I asked in exasperation, looking at Lucy's bags out on the hallway for our camping trip.
"I don't want my hair to go all frizzy in the rain" She answered, carrying out a sleeping bag from her room and placing it on her ever growing pile of things.
"Where do you plan on plugging it in then?" I questioned, giggling as she stopped in her doorway and turned to look at me with an embarrassed smile on her face.
"Oh, I guess I didn't think about that" She laughed, taking the straighteners out of her bag and putting them back in her room.
I laughed as I headed back into my room and double checked my little bag, making sure I had everything I would need for the weekend away.
It was currently Friday morning and we were going to pick Josh and George up from the train station, and I was going to drive us to the camping site at around lunch time. We had decided to stay out for two nights, and were going to be heading home on Sunday; just a week before Christmas.
The four of us were going to spend tonight celebrating Christmas together, exchanging gifts and decorating out tents with fairy lights and a small Christmas tree outside. I had gone shopping on my own to buy everyone presents and I had got Lucy a perfume gift set and some jewellery. I had brought George a new beanie he had seen when we had shopped for a dress for me for the wedding, as well as some new guitar picks and an iTunes gift card.
Shopping for Josh had been a lot harder. Now that we were friends, I wasn't really sure what to buy him. I had thought for a long time about what to buy, and nothing seemed right. I wanted it to be personal, to mean something special to him. We may just be friends, but that doesn't mean I don't love him. So I made him a gift. A memory book. It was like a scrapbook, but filled with pictures and memories I held of us both.
I was a bit nervous about what he would think of it. But he knows I love making scrapbooks, and he had always wanted his own one, so I thought I would get him started at least.
I quickly finished wrapping the scrapbook in Christmas wrapping paper and placed a small bow on the top, putting it gently into the bag of presents I had set out next to my little suitcase.
I took my belongings downstairs and left them by the door, heading into the living room and switching on the TV. I scrolled to the entertainment news channel and held my breath like I always did, preparing myself for any more news about Josh. Luckily, there wasn't any.
The media still haven't got any news about us being friends again. But his manager has assured us that if they find out, or get any information on us, he will confirm to them that we are just friends, and that Daisy and Josh are still perfectly happy together.
The sound of Lucy stomping downstairs broke my thoughts and I sat up, walking towards the door to see her struggling down the stairs with her large suitcase. I laughed and helped her carry it down the last few steps, placing it next to mine and following her upstairs to get the rest of her things.
"You do realise we are only staying until Sunday" I chuckled as I grabbed another bag.
"You never know what you are going to need when you go away" She huffed as she hauled another one of her bags down the stairs.
"Fair enough" I giggled, placing the last of the bags by the doorway and looking at my watch. We had 30 minutes before their train was due to arrive, and the train station was about 15 minutes away.
"Shall we put the things in the car now and then get going?" I asked, grabbing my car keys off the hallway table.
"Yeh! I'm so excited!" Lucy said happily, dragging one of her bags out of the door and over to my car. I unlocked the boot and helped her put all our things inside. There was hardly any room left over in the boot, so Lucy and George were going to have to sit with some bags in the back of the car with them.
By the time we were finished, it was time to head to the train station so we jumped in the car and pulled off the drive.
I was feeling more and more excited as we got further away from home and we put the music up really loud on the radio and sang along as we drove through the streets.
Thankfully snow wasn't forecast for this weekend, but as I looked up at the sky, I couldn't help but think that the forecast was wrong. I shook the thought away and focused on pulling into the station car park, finding a space just as the boys train pulled into the station.
We didn't see them get off but we soon heard them laughing as they got closer to the car. Me and Lucy jumped out and ran over to them both, wrapping our arms around them both and giggling as they both shouted "Merry Christmas!"
"Merry Christmas to you both too!" I laughed, pulling away from them both and unlocking the boot of the car to try and fit their bags inside. We managed to push George's bag inside but had to sit Josh's in the back seat, next to Lucy and George as they cuddled up to each other in the back seat for the drive.
I climbed into the driver's seat and Josh sat next to me in the front passenger seat, immediately plugging his iphone into the radio to play his music out loud as he always used to do. I looked over at him and smiled. He smiled and winked back at me, making me giggle and shake my head as I started the engine to head out of the car park.
"Next stop, the camping site!" George called from the back seat, his excitement radiating off of him. We all laughed and Josh turned up the song he had chosen, singing along as it played.
I immediately recognised it as Keane's, 'Everybody's changing'; My favourite song.
