"Piss off."

"No, not that. Come on."

"I'm not going to say it."

"Why? Are you ashamed? You're ashamed of me, aren't you?"

"No, I'm not ashamed of you."

"Are you ashamed of yourself?"

"Sometimes."

"Is it because of me?"

"No."

"Liar."

"I'm not lying."

"Prove it."

"I'm not going to say it."

"Are you afraid someone will hear you?"

"No."

"Then why don't you say it?"

"I don't want to. I'm trying to sleep. Will you please shut up?"

"Not until you say it."

"I won't say it."

"You're ashamed."

"Sometimes."

"Why?"

"Never mind."

"No. Tell me. Why are you ashamed?"

"Because I wasn't supposed to be like this."

"Like what? Gay?"

"Yes."

"What were you supposed to be like?"

"Not gay. My parents expected me to carry on the family name."

"We can adopt in the future. If we last."

"It's not the same."

"So, we'll get a surrogate. You can have a child with your genes."

"That's expensive."

"We'll do it if that's what matters to you."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Of course."

"What if we don't last that long, huh? What then? I can't be a single father."

"What does that mean?"

"It means we have to stay together."

"It's legal in every state. We can get married if we want to."
