It was unusual to wake up from such a peaceful sleep. Normally, dreams or night terrors would plague the detective, but ever since The Doctor had moved in with him, the terrors went away. In his logical brain, he could not find a reason, but The Doctor always told him to stop trying so hard.

As he blinked his eyes open, he noticed the window was open, but his Doctor was not laying beside him. He sat up and heaved a sigh, which led to a yawn, which ended with a drastic eye-rub.

"Finally awake, I see," The Doctor said as he entered the bedroom, a tray in his hands.

"I don't remember the last time I slept so well."

"I can't remember a time when I slept at all," The Doctor replied with a grin, "And that's a lot of sleepless nights."

"How many exactly?" Sherlock asked, "I've deduced and calculated many times, but I cannot seem to figure it out. It's maddening."

"Some things are meant to remain unknown," The Doctor replied, placing the tray on Sherlock's lap, "I brought you breakfast."

Sherlock looked at the man, noticing the sleepy bags under his eyes and the grease burn on his fingertips from cooking bacon. He also noticed the shaggy, undone hair, yet saw a look in the man's eye that he didn't know the meaning of. He stared a few moments longer, gathering all the needed information, then looked away.

"What did you deduce this morning?" The Doctor asked with a grin.

"I know you left last night on an adventure and arrived back in time to cook me breakfast."

"It wasn't dangerous. I simply had an errand to run."

"Nevertheless," Sherlock replied, "You must stop it."

"I apologize. Do you like your eggs?"

Sherlock was about to declare that 'do you like your eggs' was an unanswerable question, statistically, and that if The Doctor had wanted to know if the eggs tasted satisfactory to Sherlock, he should have worded it so, but he knew better. Instead, he replied with a nod and another bite of the cheesy egg. The Doctor grinned and sat on the side of the bed.

"You know, for a man of such intellegence, you have missed something very important in your morning deductions."

"Impossible," Sherlock declared.

The Doctor smiled, reaching out to take Sherlock's hand in his. Sherlock was confused only a moment before he realized that something about their hands was different.

He looked down and when he saw his hand, he froze. He stopped and stared and for a moment, he was speechless. The Doctor smiled and as he rubbed gentle circles on the man's hand with his thumb, he spoke.

"I know we haven't been living together long. I also know that a person in my situation shouldn't get so attached to a mortal being, but with you, I couldn't help it. I love you, Sherlock Holmes, and I want to marry you. If you'll have me."

Sherlock looked up at The Doctor, "Even if we have to travel fifty years in the future to do so, I want to marry you, too. You make me better and I love you as much as someone like me could love anyone."

The Doctor smiled and leaned forward, kissing Sherlock's forehead, "I'll always be yours and only yours."

Sherlock took a slow breath, "Until the end of time?"

"Until the end of time."
