Brandon's POV
"Alpha." I bowed.
"What do you want?" Jacob scowled at my posture.
"Such a kind hearted Alpha." I smirked, straightening my back.
"You only call me Alpha when you need something, what is it?" Jacob narrowed his eyes at me.
I didn't blame him, the last time I did this I was telling him that I accidentally told my sister about his need to iron his underwear. And that, did not sit well with him though my sister had the time of her life with that piece of information.
"I was wondering if you'd give me permission to go in search for my mate." At my words I saw Jacobs eyes soften.
I was twenty two and still mateless. The thought of traveling across the word in search for my mate had crossed my mind countless times but I never did have the opportunity to do so.
"Of course you can go, you don't need my permission for that, go get her man." Jacob patted my shoulder in reassurance.
Jacob had found his mate just when he turned sixteen, it wasn't a tough search since his mate lived two houses away from him, namely my sister- Fiona.
I was elated when I discovered my sister got paired with my best friend though Jacob doesn't recall it that way as the threats from me were anything but happy. I had to force him out of his bachelor ways and commit to my sister. He didn't take long to change his ways and follow her around like a puppy.
Mom-Dad had foreseen the relationship between the two and had accepted it with smiling faces. Now Fiona was heavily pregnant expecting a baby girl anytime soon.
With all this transpiring I couldn't get any more eager to find one to call my own, to shower with love.
But as years passed I grew impatient, she wasn't showing herself and I couldn't wait any longer to see her.
The problem with being second in command is that you need to be in touch with everything going on in the pack, for the finance, the count, the killings, even small things like college graduation had to be seen over. And the moment I succeeded my father, the work load came like a hurricane and it took me till now to actually accommodate a vacation.
"When will you be leaving?" Jacob asked, continuing his question answer session.
"I was thinking early tomorrow, starting with the neighbouring pack and branching out after." I saw Jacob nodding in agreement before he stopped.
"You need to be there when Cahira is born." Cahira was Jacob and Fionas first child.
"She isn't due for another month." I replied with a frown, I did want to be there when she was born, I was the godfather and my presence was absolutely necessary.
"Right, right. Get packing then! Hope we'll meet your new someone when you return."
I left the Alpha house with a face splitting grin. It won't be too long before I meet her. The only think left to do was inform my parents.
I reached the Beta house and made my way to their room.
I knocked a couple of times when mom's voice asked me to enter.
I entered to find mom patting her shoulder length brunette hair down and dad opening the windows."For God sake." I said with a disgusted scowl.
"Do you have anything to tell us besides." My father didn't seem all to happy at the intrusion but my darling mother had her eyes calculating my every move, as if she sensed I was about to deliver a life altering information.
