"How are we all doing tonight? You alright?" Tyler's voice boomed over the microphone as he began to start the show in Reading. Jenna and I sat backstage next to each other, watching what was happening.
It was amazing to see everyone jumping up and down, singing the words to the songs I had become familiar with.
Everyone was getting into the festival, and it was going great until Tyler got to Car Radio.
Tyler had to crowd surf over to a platform, but rather than it going to plan, the people holding him up began to drop him.
"Come on, lets go do something before someone gets hurt." Jenna said, walking from backstage to outside with the crowd, me close in tow.
As soon as I stepped outside I could see that Tyler was angry. His shirt had been torn to pieces and his shoes were stolen. People were yelling into his microphone. And all he was trying to do was get to Jenna and I.
We stood towards the back of the crowd, but I soon realised that was a bad idea as that's where all the drunk teenagers and young adults were.
"Hey there little lady. Aren't you a pretty one?" One man stumbled up to me placing his hand on my shoulder.
Luckily for me, whatever his intentions were, he was shut down quickly as Mark, the creative director who I had met a few weeks ago stepped between me and the man.
"Walk away." Mark said sternly to the man, who after arguing, walked off.
"Thank you." I said, stepping out from behind Mark.
"It's not a problem Aria. Can you call Jenna please and get her to come back here. Tyler would kill me if anything happened to her."
I nodded and bought Jenna back to us.
"Oh good, Tyler's finally at the other side." Jenna said.
He ran over to us and placed a hand on Jenna's shoulder.
"You're okay right?" Tyler asked me.
"I'm alright, Mark stopped anything bad from happening." I said.
"Wait what?" Jenna turned to me.
"You go backstage, we'll be off in a minute."
Jenna and I followed Mark backstage and sat down before Jenna turned to me once again.
"What happened?" She asked.
"A guy came up to me and started trying to like talk to me, but Mark stopped him."
"Oh Aria," Jenna saw my shaking hands and wrapped me in a hug. "You hid it well, I didn't even realise."
"He put his hands on me, and it scared me but I didn't want to seem any more vulnerable than what I already was."
And that's when I felt my chest tighten and my eyes water, and Jenna tapped her lap, beckoning for me to sit closer to her.
"I'm fine," I said quietly. "It just scared me. Thank god Mark saw it, or else I don't know what could have happened."
Jenna pulled me closer to her, embracing me in a comforting hug before she whispered in my ear.
"Josh's here now, it's alright."
I didn't even have to get up before I was lifted into a strong hold, Josh's hand on the back of my head as I buried my face into the shoulder of my human security blanket.
"I saw what happened and I was about to stand up and come down there, but Mark made it before I needed to." Josh said, twisting the ends of my hair. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, it scared me that's all." I repeated. I could feel Josh let out a sigh of relief.
"Did he touch you?"
"He grabbed her shoulder, but nothing else." Mark jumped in.
"Thank god." Tyler said, taking a sip of water and grabbing Jenna's hand.
"What happened out there Ty?" Jenna asked, changing the subject. Josh sat down and adjusted me so that we were both comfortable with me on his lap while Tyler answered.
"The crowd kept dropping me while I was crowd surfing, and as I got further to the back, there were heaps of drunk people who were stealing my stuff. One of them took my shoes, another took my mic. My shirt was ripped at some point too." Tyler replied, running his fingers through his hair.
"They shouldn't have been allowed to stay at the festival if they were that drunk. It's disgusting." Josh said.
And as we all made our way back to the car we had come in back to the hotel, I fell asleep on Josh, his strong hold being my metaphorical security blanket.
Hi! It's Addy. Just a quick note saying that I'm aware that the events in this chapter may not be completely accurate, as they are only based off of real life events. It was definitely over dramatised for the sake of story progression.
Addison :)
