Third person

Tyler and Josh sat on the couch beside each other, waiting for the small girl named Aria to go with Jenna so they could talk. After a few goodbyes from Jenna, and silence from Aria, Tyler turned to Josh. "She seemed like she opened up to you a lot more than she has with me. She hasn't said a word to me." He said.

"I'm trying to figure out if I said anything wrong." Josh thought back — Aria was fine, then suddenly, she put her walls back up.

"I heard most of the conversation, I don't think you said anything wrong, unless there was something personal to her that you didn't know about." Tyler said. "She seems to really like Jenna though."

"I don't think it's a matter of if she likes her or not, I think she trusts Jenna. I think she feels safe with Jenna."

"You said her dad was the one who —"

Josh nodded.

"Maybe she's finding it difficult to trust males?"

"Maybe," Josh sighed. "Her mother apparently wasn't a good person either."

"She seems so scared."

"She is. She's terrified."

"She said that?"

"Tyler, Aria reads like an open book. With some things at least. I think she's scared that we're going to take her back to her dad."

"No."

"I know."

"Josh, do you have any idea on what we are going to do? I mean, what if she needs to go to the doctors, or needs proof of a legal guardian? She's only staying with us right now, she has nowhere else to go."

Silence fell between the two. The pair stared at the wall for a while, before Tyler placed his head in his hands for a brief moment.

"Josh, Aria stopped talking when I came and sat down."

"No she — oh. She did."

"Did I do something?"

"Not that I know of."

"Do you think it'll make it better if Jenna talks to her about it?"

"It's worth a shot."
