“Nathan! Let’s go already.” I yell to him from across the field. “Yeah, Yeah I’m coming.” He replies back. When we get home the oven is on and delicious smells pour out when I open the door. Sitting there was a tray of lasagne big enough for two and lunch tomorrow. The lady living across the hall from us is always leaving us dinner whenever we are home later that we anticipate. She is an ex-hunter and knows all about our situation and keeps an eye on us for the organisation. Nathan sets the table while I serve the food. Conversation is minimal while we eat. After dinner we start on homework and other things required for school then it is off to bed.
Mornings are boring and uneventful before we leave the apartment. When we get to school it is a different story, for me anyway. I need to make sure that I am within two meters of Nathan at all times, instructions from the organisation. Because we are half demon we have unnatural powers from a human’s perspective and can flip out when we are agitated unless we learn to control our temper. Since we were little we have been training constantly to control our power. I have completed my training and mastered my temper whereas Nathan hasn’t, that is why I am in every class with him and I walk with him to and from school. We don’t play sport or join clubs with in the school and we have very little friends. Our main teacher is also a demon hunter sent to keep an eye on us.
