Serena's POV

'But, Doctor, isn't there something we can do?' Gasped Lily, fiddles with the bracket around her wrist. I put my hand over hers so that she couldn't take it off.

'Well, she loves people, doesn't she?' Said The Doctor exasperatedly. He looked so worried. 'Love slows down the process.'

'Sounds like a crappy romance movie.' I muttered.

'Then let me give her mine!' Said Rory, hurriedly tugging at his own bracelet.

'Rory, no.' Said The Doctor, calmly but firmly.

'Why not? I've always loved her more than she loved me, so the conversion would take longer for me.'

'Thats... Not... True...' Said Amy weakly.

'Of course it's true!'

'No... It's not...' Amy croaked.

'Amy, we were going to get a divorce!'

'What?' Exclaimed Lily.

'Didn't you know that?' I said quietly.

'See? Even she knew that!' Said Rory, indicating to me.

'She knows... Everything.'

'Yes, she gets it from her dad, he's as bit of a dick in that way as she is.' Said Lily quickly. 'But... You were going to be divorced?'

'Well, we just...' Rory trailed off.

Lily was about to respond, but she couldn't find the words.

'Doctor, what about you?' I said. The Doctor was kneeling next to Amy, holding her wrist as if to take her pulse - which is what he said he was doing.

'I can see your hand.' Was all I said.

'Well, I'm a Time Lord.' He said. 'I doubt I can be converted.'

'So, all this time, you knew you could save her...' Rory trailed off again.

'No, I didn't.' There was a sadness in The Doctor's tone. 'She's already been exposed to the nanogene cloud. I don't know if this will work.'

'It's better than nothing,' I said.

There were a few moments of silence. 'What now?' Lily finally said, her voice barely above a whisper.

'We try to find Oswin.' I said, when nobody else responded. 'After all, that is why we came here, isn't it?'
