When they got back to their room in the palace, Jake found a mysterious note waiting in his bed.  It was written on something like paper.  It caught his eye because he hadn’t seen anything on paper since his time in Canada.  The Replini always used electronic devices for communication as did 23rd century folk.  On closer inspection, he discovered the note was written in less than perfect Lajbon and it took a while to figure out what it was supposed to say.

“We wish to invite you to the palace of the Yellow Emperor.  Our network of informants reports that the Black Emperor may not have told you the whole truth about our people and our planet. If you would like to hear more, please visit us.  See coordinates below.”

Jake showed the note to Ming who in turn showed it to Riojme and Jang.  They began to discuss visiting the Yellow Emperor when the Black Emperor entered the room. He was clearly harried and a bit winded.  He came escorted by Pamoi and Tance and began to address the four humans.

“My good friends, it has come to my attention that the tricky and deceitful Yellow Emperor has sent you a note.  Be assured that anything he says is false.  Have I not been kind and hospitable to you?”

Ming responded on behalf of the group.  “Indeed you have been kind.  We greatly appreciate the generosity and honor you have bestowed on us.  However, we didn’t come just to hear one perspective; we came to learn everything we could about your people.  I think accepting the Yellow Emperor’s invitation would help accomplish our mission.”

“I really appreciated the Nuxalkilite engineering instructions you provided we hope to have a plant running within a short period.  Our historians are currently studying the historical documents you provided.  Is there anything I can do to change your mind?  Can I give you anything?  I really desire to keep our relationship.”

“I didn’t say that we wouldn’t return.  We just want to get another perspective on your planet.”

The Emperor suddenly turned black with tiny yellow spots flickering across his body.  Jake had learned that this was the signal of rage.  In a flurry of clicks he yelled: “GUARDS! Strip them of their technology!”    The doors burst open and in charged the guards.  Ming turned to grab an orb and the head band.  A guard raised his pistol and pointed at Ming.  Before Ming could do anything, Jake saw a purple flash.  They were back on the space station.
