8 years ago today we finally had to say goodbye to the King of Pop. He left behind a family, thousands of fans, and so much more.
He revolutionized music, breaking barriers that allow the artists we have today to be who they are. He accomplished so much. He truly is a legend.
OFF THE WALL His very first solo album that separates him from his brothers
THRILLER The number one selling album of all time with popular songs such as Beat It and Billie Jean, which was the first music video by a black artist to show on MTV. He received 8 Grammy awards for this very album, earning its place in history.
BAD The album with the highest grossing tour.
DANGEROUS The album where he showed us he wasn't a little kid anymore. With songs such as In The Closet, he showed us who he was and made a clear statement.
HISTORY The album where he took his songs -- past, present, and future -- and rolled them all in to one. With past hits sich as Billie Jean to songs that show how you should believe what you hear on tv such as Tabloid Junkie, even a sad ballad to show you how he felt like Stranger in Moscow, he showed every aide of himself in one album. Perhaps his controversial They Don't Care About Us is a well known one from this album. He discussed police brutality which was a problem even back then. He told the truth even then and nobody listened.
INVINCIBLE The album that did amazing even without no promotion from Sony. With hits such as You Rock My World, he once again made the charts, showing us how he wouldn't go out of style anytime soon. The song Privacy, which doesn't get as much love as the rest, shows how he feels with the press trying to catch his every move, especially with his children. He poured his heart and soul into each album, and he sure did it with this one too.
THIS IS IT His final tour. It was where he promised to see us in July. Only it proved that this actually was it as he passed away days before he performed the first show. I'm In This Is It he would perform the songs we wanted. He planned on performing songs as far back as The Jackson 5 days, each with sets that conveyed the theme of each album. It was where he performed his final song, the powerful Earth Song on June 24th, hours before his death.
He was taken from us by a doctor who gave him a lethal dose of protocol among other sleeping drugs.
He helped countries all over the world. He donated so much to charity, yet everyone forgets that when the topic of his 2005 trial comes in.
A person like him comes around once in a lifetime. A person with a light so bright that people feel the need to extinguish it before its time. We treated him so cruel when he deserves none of it. I'm glad he's in a better place.
Rest in Peace Michael Jackson 1958 - ∞
