Chapter Two

After the bell rings we all get up and start walking to our next class for the day. The girls and I walk to science and sit in the back. While I opt out of sitting right next to the window Fawn goes ahead and takes it.

" (Y/N) what would you do if Connor sat next to us again?"

Fawn whispered in my ear. I groan and look around right as Connor sits in front of me. The girls look at me and smile.

"Are you two joking?"

I whisper-yell at them. They both shake their heads with smiles on their faces. I groan again and slouch putting my feet on the back of Connors chair. He turns around and rolls his eyes. I sigh and just wait for class to be over

"Ok class so today we will be pairing up for a project. You will be picking a part of the human body and doing research on said part."

She tells the class. Most of the class groans when she says.

"And I've already picked your partners so don't be too excited."

I look over at my two friends and we all know we won't be together for this one. We all again look back to the front and wait for our dooms. She starts to call out names for who's paired together. I start to doodle and wait for my name to be called.

" Fawn Reno and Lena Vienna. And lastly (Y/N) (L/N) and Connor Murphy."

As she says my name I look up. When she says mine and Connors name I stare at her with disbelief. Connor turns and looks back at me and we stare into each other's eyes for a moment but with different looks on our faces. My face says ' I can not believe this ' and his face says ' I hate you with all my heart ' . I look over to my friends and they both look the same as I do.

"No no no."

I say laying my head down on to the table. The three of them look at me and I head Fawn crouch next to me and says

"Hun are you alright?"

I keep my eyes closed but sit up and breath for a moment. After a minute of breathing and calming down I look at her and nod my head.

"Ok everyone you can go with your assigned partner for the rest of class and figure out what you will me doing."

I hear the teacher say. Me and Connor look at each other for a moment before we even pull out out books..

"What part do you want to do?"

He asks me with a voice that, unlike the last time we spoke, was softer. I look up at him and think before saying

"How about the brain?"

He nods his head and we walk up to the teacher and tell her what part we are doing.

"Ah the brain! What an interesting part of the body." She says to Connor and I. I look at Connor as we sit down and think ' I wonder. Maybe just maybe he does' and smile and to myself before the bell rings and the four of us exit the class room. As we walk to the next class some girl walks up to me and my friends as Connor goes at a slightly slower pace behind us. The girls look at us and smirk as if they were the coolest people on Earth.

"Hey I wouldn't keep your face like that for too long... It may freeze."

I say to them with a smile on my face. They look at me and glare. I hear Connor snicker behind us.

" Excuse me but do you know who you are talking to?"

The leader of the group asks me stupidly. I look at her and smile. I see Connor start to walk around us and I think quickly.

"Gladly no! But if you'll excuse me I have to go to class. Y'know that place you learn."

I say the last part slowly so she can "comprehend" what I'm saying. She glares at me once more before walking away. ' The question is why? Did you want Connor to stay?' I question myself. I blush slightly and sit in the very back again. I turn to me side and see Lena sitting behind Fawn. I look forward again to see Connor. ' Connor. Connor. Connor. You want him don't you?' A voice in the back of my head says. I look down and pull out my notebook and start to draw. After about five minutes my teacher runs in looking disheveled.

"Sorry I'm late everybody. I had an emergency meeting with my mother's Doctor."

He says to us and then he tells us to pull out out books and start reading. After about 45 minutes I pull out my notebook again and start to draw something. The bell finally rings and we all zoom out of ELA ready for this day to be over with. We walk in and get into our gym clothes before we walk out again. As we realize what unit we are doing fear grows in our eyes as we look to the boys, and then look back at each other.

"Are you joking?!"

I groan and lean my head back. One boy catches my eyes though. ' Connor. Connor. Connor.' My mind supplies me. Why am I thinking like this? Just two days ago I wanted to punch him as hard as I could. I groan again and put my head in my hands.

"You ok love?"

Lena asks me with a concerned face. I nod my head and just wish for the day to be over with. I hear the gym teacher call everyone over and basically the whole gym collectively groans.

" Ok so this unit is the unit that no one likes. And we all know what unit it is. This is the dancing unit."

She says to us and sighs. 'same' I think when I hear her sigh. I look at the boys and again look straight to Connor. ' Why are you looking at him so much today? Do you like him or what?' I blink when I hear the teacher say my name.

" (Y/N)? (Y/N) your going to be partnered with Connor for this unit."

She says to me and I look at where Connor is waiting for me. We go and wait with the other students that already have partners and wait. In the end Lena gets paired with Jared and Fawn got Paired with Evan. I smile as the bell rings for the last time and the teacher calls to us as we go to the bathrooms to change.

" Don't forget your partners!"

She yells. I wish I could forget but nope it will be stuck. I walk out side and start to walk home. This is going to be a long week. I think to myself walking home.
