It's 2am. I'm inspired. I'm sorry.

The sidewalk is a lot like life. It's hard, put into place. There are sometimes minor cracks and breaks, sometimes there are major ones. Still, we follow along this path. No matter the imperfections and problems, we will continue on.

Frank kept his gaze on the sidewalk and his hand firmly holding onto a bouquet. The sunflowers were bright and glowing in contrast to the drizzle outside. A small smile appeared on Frank's face as he stopped in front of the front door. Twirling his wedding ring on his finger, Frank took a deep breath and walked forward.

Continuing on, Frank made a beeline for the certain room he knew so well. Slowly opening the door he saw Gerard come into view. When Gerard noticed his presence a wide smile fell upon his cracked, pale lips. Frank couldn't help but smile back at his husband.

Frank walked to the edge of the bed, sitting next to Gerard. "Hey, honey. I got you some flowers, I saw them and immediately thought of you." Gerard's smile looked as if it would break his face. No matter how pale and cold he was, his smile could always warm and brighten a room.

"Thank you so much, they're beautiful," Gerard laughed a bit as his eyes started to water. "Look at me, I'm so emotional all the time." Frank smiled and let his thumb trace the tears from his cheeks.

Gerard reached up and interlocked his fingers with Frank's. Their joined hands raised as Frank laid a sweet, lingering kiss on the back of Gerard's hand. They stared at each other in admiration, finding comfort in one another's company.

Frank brought a hand through Gerard's short hair. "I still wish I could've kept my hair. I look so ugly with my hair like this."

"You are absolutely mesmerizing. I don't care if you're absolutely bald or have the longest hair ever. You're still my baby, still the wonderful man that I married." Frank leaned down to press a kiss on Gerard's forehead, nose, chin, and finally his lips.

"You're too good to me. What did I ever do to deserve you?" Gerard allowed his hands to slowly caress  Frank's face, taking in his beautiful features.

"Well, let's see if I remember. I do recall you almost hitting me with your car and then you proceeded to say "I have pizza rolls, cosmic brownies, and Capri Suns if you don't sue."

Gerard giggled, "Oh, yes. You, a perfect stranger, then got into my car and we went to my house. We finished the day off with the cosmic brownies I had promised, coffee, and Saw movies."

"I still don't know why you assumed I would sue you. I was just a small teenager who needed to watch where he was going."

"I see the 'small' factor still remains." Gerard snorted another laugh at his own remark.

"Do you think that's funny, Gee Bear?" Gerard nodded but started squealing as Frank softly but firmly dug his fingers into his sides. As he tickled Gerard, Frank continued to laugh at Gerard's loud curses and laughter.

Frank abruptly stopped as soon as Gerard started coughing. His laughter had dissolved and was soon replaced with a look of concern. "I'm sorry, babe. I didn't mean to be so rough."

Gerard smiled through his coughing fit, "It's okay, Frankie. You make me so happy."

Another smile crossed Frank's face as he allowed Gerard to play with his fingers. He always felt calm and happy with his husband. He was his reason for living and breathing each day.

Their small moment was interrupted by a knock on door. The doctor slipped into the room and gave the couple a smile. "Hey, I just came to do some checkups."
