The gorgeous cover to the side was made by Susan (@KingsleyMyQueen), so this is dedicated to her. Thank you!
“Clubbing.”
“Boat ride.”
“Yatch party?” Hector tried to ease the tension between me and Crista. She wanted to go clubbing and get drunk, I wanted to go sailing like the civilized people that we were.
We rolled our eyes at his suggestion.
In the end, because everyone just loves me so much, and has so much regard for my opinion, we went clubbing.
We were all below twenty four, which was the legal drinking age here, we needed to get dressed up so that we wouldn’t look like we’re a bunch of underage teenagers trying to get into a club and drink illegally.
Which, in fact, we were.
I spent the most time trying to make myself look over twenty four, because of my obvious lack of previous experience. I’d never really bothered getting dressed up much. The only time I’d actually decked up was for Prom. But today, as I looked at myself in the mirror, I think I should’ve have tried harder these last few years. Looking at myself now, I could just jump onto a stage and belt out ‘I Feel Pretty’ the way Jack Nicholson did. Because I actually did feel pretty.
Fran made me wriggle into a jumpsuit which we’d bought on the shopping spree. And before ideas of men in orange prison jumpsuits start popping into your head, let me tell you, this was a feminine one. She’d respected my unconscious desire to not show too much skin, so the jumpsuit was full length. The top was strappy, and it took all of my willpower to stand up straight and not slouch and cover the tiny part of my cleavage which was on display. And my hair was left open instead of the usual braid or messy bun. A couple of ballerina flats, and I didn’t look underage anymore.
When I stepped out into the corridor, Marie was already there. She looked me up and down and wolf whistled.
“I might be into you.” She smirked.
“That would be a loss for Hector.” I dramatically put a hand to my heart and sighed. She laughed and pulled us along once Fran was out.
When we met the boys down in the lobby, Kon just stood there agape, staring at me, while everyone else talked and laughed. Hermes had to not so subtly step on his foot to make him realize he was being creepy.
But I didn’t mind, because it was the kind of creepy I could definitely get used to.
“You look… really… nice.” He cleared his throat, at a loss for words.
Hermes rolled his eyes. “Hot would be a better word. You look hot!”
“Oi! You’re supposed to say that only to Fran.” I smacked him.
“Frankie! You look hot!” He complied.
“Thank you, Idiot who was perving on my best friend two seconds ago.” She pretended to glare.
“You girls are so hard to understand! Both look hot, okay? Deal with it!” He threw his hands up in the air.
I rolled my eyes and stalked past him outside.
“Is there any chance of a threesome?” He called after me. I didn’t even bother answering him.
There you go people :D
