Heheheh this is always something I love doing in every book- the closing credits xD
“Lee! Are you ready?!” Kon knocked on my door.
“No! And neither am I!” Fran yelled back.
“You’re not ready?!” Hermes said with glee. “Knock it down, Kon. I’m telling you, we can, and we should! Just imagine, they’re undressed!”
I rolled my eyes as I did the button of my jeans. In the corner of my room stood our backpacks, all packed and ready. The guide books of U.S.A lay scattered all over my bed.
“Hermes Laios, please stop pretending like you haven’t been getting it from a very hot girl for the past six months.” Fran called back as I started picking up my stuff that was thrown around.
“FRAN! My parents live right down the corridor!” I admonished her.
When we were done, I opened the door.
“God, finally.” Hermes said. “Would’ve been so much faster if we’d have just come in and helped you guys.”
I made a sick face at Hermes while Kon protectively put an arm around me and we walked downstairs for breakfast.
“Hey, I made pancakes. Sort of a commemoration of the first day I cooked breakfast for you.” Dad told me as he served us our plates.
“Thanks, Ralph.” I teased him as I hugged him.
We’d long since started calling him Dad, but now and then, just to annoy him, I called him Ralph.
Mum came in, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. Dad gave her a small peck.
“You kids have fun, okay? And don’t get married by mistake.” Mum chuckled sleepily.
“That’s not the only thing people do when they’re drunk in Los Angeles.” Hermes winked.
Mum was so used to him by now that she just chuckled once more before disappearing back upstairs.
After breakfast, Dad and the boys piled all our backpacks into the trunk of my pickup, while we girls went through the checklist.
Tickets? Done. Bookings? Done. Food and drinks? Done. Money? Done. Extra money? Done.
Hermes had very slyly added condoms to the end of that list.
I piled into the back of the pickup with Kon, Crista, Hector and Marie as the rest of them took the front with Fran at the wheel.
“Ready to go see America?” He smiled down at me as we settled into a comfortable position.
I turned and took one last, long look at my home. Then I turned back to him.
“Born ready.” I grinned.
Nooowwwww, for the real credits :P
